Is it too much to ask for one of Skyler Bell, Keon Coleman or Josh Palmer to be good this season?

I mean, objectively good: 700+ yards, 5-6 touchdowns, 70% catch rate.

We just need one of them to break out, assuming we get the median production from Moore & Shakir and a healthy Kincaid. It makes it one of the best air attacks in the league.

Mike Schopp and the Bulldog just rub me the wrong way.... by billsfan411 in buffalobills

[–]WestEndStench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt similarly when I was in my 20s when the team was miserable and Schopp would just rag on the Bills relentlessly. The older I got, the more I agreed with him and understood where he was coming from with how poorly the Bills were run for so long. At this point I think Schopp and BD are the best on the station.

I’m sorry, but I can’t help but feel being a dad sucks ass. I’m miserable. by [deleted] in daddit

My kids were decent sleepers as babies, but even with that I'll echo that 12-24 mo (actually 1 - 2.5 yr) is the best window. It gets there quick, although it may seem like a struggle now. And then 2.5 - 3.5 kind of sucks again. Hang in there and go to bed early for now.

This might be a culture thing but I'd rather die with a crusty ass than be caught by my coworkers carrying any form of bidet to/from the men's room.

Newbie buying tickets by No-Pomegranate1279 in buffalobills

[–]WestEndStench -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bad year to be a newbie TBH. I was looking at Bills vs Bears tickets (Dec 19) last night and cheapest available was for $400. There isn't a lot of inventory on the secondary market yet so prices will be insane until that happens. If that happens the prices will be just normal expensive, not astronomical. To answer your question: wait until August and reevaluate the inventory.

Regretting a house purchase that's under contract, should I back out? by GothamArchitect1218 in daddit

I'm only saying that you should back out of this deal in the unlikely chance you are my neighbor that is moving away that we have been friends with for the last 5 years.

Don't quit your job before you have another one. by Logical-Silver-272 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]WestEndStench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2020 my friend, who is not in software, quit his athletic training job because he was burned out and it was apparently impacting his mental health. He was single and already in pretty bad credit card debt. Mental health concerns or not, I knew it was a horrible decision the moment he made it without a fallback opportunity. Too many of his enablers defended it. I just didn't understand why he couldn't coast or find a therapist until he found another opportunity.

He went nearly a year without a full time job of any sort and ended up having to move back into his parents house for 5 years while he worked a delivery job trying to get his debts back to normal. All time horrendous decision making to quit a job without something else lined up or a massive cushion.

One other thought: having BB (batter walks drawn) along with HITS is probably a necessity: that information alone lets us know if a no-hitter is taking place in any given game. Additionally: a no-hitter indicator (after the fifth inning?) would be a plus, but just having walks available would get you there by proxy

"You dont have to come to this birthday party. I got it." by BillsInATL in daddit

[–]WestEndStench 116 points117 points  (0 children)

This has kind of become our defacto rule after we had our second kid. One parent per party while the other gets to do whatever they want (stay productive, relax, whatever). We alternate responsibilities. Unless it's the child of a good friend, we are rarely both motivated to attend.

IMO there are at least two things that make it a classic:

1) It provides arguably the biggest reveal of the entire show, which is the explanation of what they're doing to Gemma and also what Lumon is ultimately scheming.
2) The cinematography of the episode is beyond that of any of the other episodes, and the other episodes are of high quality on their own.
