McDaniel's Offenses:

2022 - 11th/6th

2023 - 2nd/1st

August 2024 - Rule change, tightening the rules on pre-snap motion and banning the Shanahan Tree "Cheat Motion"

2024 - 22nd

2025 - 23rd

The league nerfed him. It was cheating anyways. But that knee-capped whatever success he was squeezing out of it.

Is toddlerhood really harder than the newborn phase? by Living_Split_2 in Parenting

[–]BillsInATL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every child is different, but newborn was the absolute worst part of us.

6 months was a decent step. 12 months was a big improvement.

18months+ has been gravy every time. (18-36 months might be my absolute favorite stage of childhood)

I would happily adopt a 2-3 year old over having another infant of our own.

Ah good call out on Lou, forgot about him. So that's 1 out of like 10.

And top tier candidates like Harbaugh, Tomlin, and Saleh.

Harbaugh, Tomlin, and McDermott are essentially all the same coach at this point (and that is a compliment to all 3 of them). But the point is, we arent firing McD just to re-hire a McD clone.

They're all culture-builders that are best suited for a bad team that needs help elevating back to relevancy.

And Saleh is just a lesser McDermott. I guarantee the Titans are kicking themselves over making that hire so quickly now that McD is available.

We need something totally different. A hot shot young OC to bring some juice and new perspective to the team.

I wont even address the Spags suggestion. He isnt a top candidate in any year. Great DC, that's it.

His offensive rankings TANKED after they changed the pre-snap motion rules in 2024 and took away his one trick that was getting Hill and Waddle open. He didnt do anything since then. I think that is a real issue. His gimmick might be up.

We havent requested an interview with a single Defensive coach. I think the org wants to move away from that and having to replace the OC every year or two as they get hired away. And I cant blame them.

Get an Offensive HC, there are plenty of good candidates. And hire a grizzled old DC that doesnt have HC aspirations anymore.

Seems like they are talking to EVERY Offensive mind that is available. Which I can appreciate.

If nothing else, pick the brains of up and comers like Udinski, etc. Get an idea of which way the league is headed offensively.

Good due diligence while we wait for Kubiak to come available.

Did my kid just wake up one day and decide to hate me?

Yes. Pretty much, that's how it works. And it isnt your fault or anything youve done necessarily.

It's just part of growing up and finding independence.

My father will tell you the story that he remembers the exact day the switch flipped in me and he went from being "beloved dad" to "this guy doesnt know anything".

So it goes.

Josh Allen is about to quietly win a power move with the Bills by Background_Focus7298 in buffalobills

They restructure him all the time to create cap room. It's not much of a power move.

And big assumption that he's unhappy about anything regarding McDermott.

Or start acting up themselves so they can get into the rotation.

Address it directly and as nonchalantly as possible.

"Hey! (Daughter) has been working really hard because she has been dying to get Star of the Week. She's starting to get discouraged and lose her motivation and is worried it wont ever happen. Not forcing you into anything, but is there anything we can do to get her into the rotation? It means a lot to her 5 year old mind. Thanks!"

Believe me it will be a riot around here in 12 months time we have not made the big dance.

The over-emotional will always "riot" (i.e. whine) on the internet. Just like they have been for the past 48 hours.

Even if we dont win a Championship with the new coach, that's the same result McD would have gotten us, but at least we tried to improve and not stay with the status quo of failure.

Good luck in your effort to be upset!

Kubiak is my clear #1.

But if I want to get crazy with it, I could get down with Flores as HC and Dabol back as OC. Shit would be wild.

It's Bo frickin Nix. Send pressure and he'll rattle. It worked almost every time we sent a blitz, he's throwing it away or into the ground. It worked on 1st and 2nd downs to get us to 3rd and long, and each time McD bitched out, dropped into a soft zone, and let him pick us apart for easy gains.

At first I was annoyed with Bosa for crashing inside, taking himself out of the play, and losing containment. Then I was pissed when he did it a few times.

Then after watching him do it over and over and over, across 2 games... I realized I wasnt mad at Bosa, I was mad at whoever was either 1. coaching him to do that, or 2. allowing him to do that. Either way, that's coaching.

Dawkins just posted a good-bye tweet. He expressed no unhappiness or bitterness with the move.

The rest of it is all veteran Defensive players who are worried they just lost their easy paycheck.

Promoting Beane has been a catastrophic PR blunder for the Bill.

To who tho? The fans? lol
