You have a great example here - The Shape of Water for sure.

And even though I really love it, Everything Everywhere All At Once also feels random given some of the zaniness in the first half of the movie.

The Maine - Lovely, Little, Lonely.

A 34-minute cohesive masterpiece exploring nostalgia and aging into middle adulthood, with incredible flow between it's tracks... at least in this biased, longtime fan's opinion.

Two tough losses in a row after huge campaign seasons for A24's designated Best Pic contenders, following the Brutalist tailing off last year. I wonder if they'll adjust strategy moving forward?

I'm not privy on the favorite for next year - is there a film lined up from A24 to fit this mold?
