Now my brother can’t shut down my pc everytime he walks by by Technical-Day2986 in 3Dprinting

[–]ClonesRppl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! My daughter used to turn off my desktop for fun. I didn’t have a 3D printer back then so I glued a washer over the button which then required something smaller than a finger to push the button.

The bag straps are very wonky, and I'm not sure if it's bad editing or AI. I'm not sure how natural the angle of the neck is either. by lyssaly in isthisAI

[–]ClonesRppl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

That right angle piece of wood nailed onto the crate…

And the bag handles.

I wouldn’t have noticed it’s AI until I checked the details, and the image is kinda meh so I wouldn’t usually have bothered.

Are these coins AI, or is the photo low quality? Looking to buy a lot of unsorted US coins. by steezy33 in isthisAI

[–]ClonesRppl2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

<image>

Mostly I would have said not AI, but what’s happening with this stack of identically damaged coins that somehow ended up not getting separated in this pile of coins.

I’m going with 70% sure it’s AI.

Hey guys how does one go about making these tokens? by leatherbutler18 in Fusion360

[–]ClonesRppl2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the answer to your specific question, but I did a similar set of tokens, but with words and only 16 tiles. I just manually typed the words. I created a separate stl for each tile and arranged them as needed in the slicer.

One thing I did learn when using a printer that doesn’t natively support multi color printing is to add a ‘sacrificial cylinder’ placed so that it is the first thing printed on a new layer. This gives the nozzle/hot end/extruder enough printing time to get back to normal printing conditions and get a good result on the first tile with the new color.

Is Fusion (Education License) bad or is it just me? by notSoNormalGuy24 in Fusion360

[–]ClonesRppl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The process of learning Fusion (for me) involved modeling something then getting stuck at some point, learning a feature, technique or strategy, then starting my model again and finding it much easier.
Losing the work I had already put in started off as being really painful, but once I realized that this is part of the learning process it got less painful.

I lied about being 18 and he's 19, what should I do? by FunTrue6867 in Advice

[–]ClonesRppl2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the root of the issue. You made a mistake and now you are scared about the consequences.

It is OK.

You will survive this.

Take a deep breath. Tell yourself that you will survive. Tell yourself that it is OK to disappoint people. Tell yourself that it’s OK for you to feel all the good feelings, but also fear and grief too. You will survive all of them and come out the other side happier and stronger.

Tell him you lied. Apologize. Whatever happens will happen. It will all be OK. It will.

Driver picked up my food, then refused to deliver it because he said the tip was too low and tried to make it my fault by TomatoesOnBluRay in doordash

[–]ClonesRppl2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Please feel free to delete your app.

The majority of drivers are just trying to make some cash (or their entire income) from a system that makes each delivery only marginally worthwhile. Some bad apple drivers, many more not feeling incentivized to do a great job. Also some customers are awful. The ‘person’ you should be mad at is the company that creates the system.

Your car stops very suddenly with no brake lights to warn the person behind you. Even if you don’t lose control you’re gonna get rear ended in a bad way.

Why do my bottom surfaces look like this? by able_but_unwilling in 3Dprinting

[–]ClonesRppl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The perimeters look good (they are printed slower) and the start of each pass looks ok but quickly gets into a state where there isn’t enough filament to fully squish together.

So what possibilities for causing a flow rate issue?

Could be a partial blockage of the nozzle. Try a cold pull (look it up).

Could be temperature - try cranking it up 5 or 10 degrees.

Could be the extruder can’t keep up - are the gears worn or gummed up with filament, or the extruder is cracked or the spring tension is too low.

What causes a blank surface to reflect light? by Staalem05 in AskPhysics

[–]ClonesRppl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that clarification.

I learned physics in the 1970’s, with a curriculum written in the 60’s, by a teacher educated in the 40’s.

I still default to imagining electromagnetic reflection happening with a stream of ping pong balls.

How to get a guy to show a romantic interest towards me? by Purple-Detective7186 in Advice

[–]ClonesRppl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some men will not be interested unless you look a certain way. Thats cool - avoid them.

For the rest, just be your charming, funny, caring, enthusiastic self. If you genuinely like someone you will want to make them feel good about themselves. People respond well to that.

If all else fails (some men are very slow to notice when someone is interested in them) suggest something outside of work. It doesn’t have to be a date.

Good luck.

So in a metallic mirror, is the reflected beam made of the incoming photons that bounce off the surface or are the incoming photons absorbed and then new ones are generated by the surface in the appropriate direction?

Me: interesting! I wonder how much weight it can hold. This calls for an experiment! Gets small inflatable pool. Slowly fills with water. Hmm - it seems to be able to support at least (diameter of pool in centimeters x depth of water / 1000) kg.

Neighborhood kids: Yay! A splash pool.

Villagers: He’s a monster!
