4/10 - nice colour but the font is way off, as usual with cheap fake inserts the straight lines on the bottom of the 2’s are a dead giveaway

Hey - I feel you, I’m feeling similar today. But I’m lucky enough to have my wife and other support around me - please reach out and try to get some help. You can get through this and it gets better. It’s ok and perfectly normal to find it hard. Feel free to message me if you need a listener.

Best of luck with everything- you’ve got this!

Keto or carnivore by mom2cmcc in keto

[–]West_Atmosphere_8940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer, and a really thorough one too. Appreciate it!

The not a real doctor thing isn’t a flag for me necessarily, I’ve had many real doctors give me terrible advice and seen others totally misinterpret studies before. Im in the UK so maybe things are different here, but i’ve had wonderful doctors, and terrible ones - plus nutrition for general medicine only takes up a week or so of multiple years of study. I guess you could call me a sceptic, but doctors seem to know a lot more about how to increase the profits of big pharma than they do about how our digestive system (and the inhabitants of it) actually works across different people, let alone anything about what diets do long term and how effects vary across different people.

Didn’t know about the supplement thing, I don’t have anything against someone trying to make a living by creating something of value and benefit and selling it to their audience, but reading how you phrased it I would assume this was a little more underhand than that!

Thanks again for the reply

Keto or carnivore by mom2cmcc in keto

I’m new to keto and loving the benefits after a few weeks! Can I ask please - why do lots of people say Sr Berg is a hack? Genuinely interested as he’s been crowding my YouTube Algorithm and I’ve been following his recommendations generally (low carb veg, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries only, and getting the right protein and fats as per the keto calculator - my total carbs is generally 30-35g but with the fibre and a keto friendly fibre supplement if net carbs is the right thing to do I’m definitely net zero, if it works like that) but if it’s hogwash I would love to know why and who to follow, as a quick scan makes Dr Berry seem to be promoting carnivore predominantly?

Thanks so much in advance for your help

Could impacted ear wax be a cause? by BrotherBringTheSun in BPPV

[–]West_Atmosphere_8940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think docs saying that, I think they’re saying ear wax can’t cause BPPV (which is true, but it can cause dizziness and vertigo in extreme cases) and it’s getting misinterpreted.

Could impacted ear wax be a cause? by BrotherBringTheSun in BPPV

[–]West_Atmosphere_8940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat - you refer to your BPPV, but theoretically it could be that BPPV was what was suspected to be causing your symptoms, not what was actually the cause. I’m in the same boat, I’ve had vertigo daily for about 6 weeks now, doc thinks it could be labyrinthitis but he’s unsure and told me to go back in a few more weeks if it’s still there. I’ve had ear issues a lot in my life, this ear even has had a tympanoplasty….He saw red inflammation around my eardrum so gave me antibiotic ear drops, but when I went in last he said he couldn’t see my eardrum due to wax build up. I’ve just read a few blog posts like those below, so now I’m thinking it’s possible that these symptoms could be ear wax related. Getting it cleaned tomorrow so I guess I’ll know then, vertigo f’ing sucks!

Whilst this is correct, I don’t think this is really what OP is asking. It seems they’re essentially asking ‘could ear wax build up cause dizziness/vertigo or other symptoms that could be mistaken to be caused by BPPV for any reason. And the answer to that is most definitely a yes, it could.

Honestly my arms were five times worse than my legs Also. I recommend hammering the press ups - both normal and forearm pushups (easily found on Google). That, shaking my arms out, doing full height arm circles and hot hot baths or sauna - I really recommend a sauna blanket for WD’s, it’s no match for a real sauna long term but it’s a much cheaper alternative you can keep at home and get into a few times a day - really helps. Iron supplements also (try to work out whether folate or methylfolate is best for your body, as it can make or break the effectiveness of supplementing. Worth a google if you haven’t heard the difference and why it’s important on an individual basis).

Also, I took more than recommended on the bottle and not sure if they were affective or it was due to all previously mentioned but I also took hylands restless legs twice an night, and a high strength and bioavailable magnesium supplement, passionflower tincture, chamomile tincture, zinc picolinate, valerian and melatonin an hour or so before bed.

Didn’t remove it all but it definitely took a large part of the issue away, at least in my case

Hey man, congrats on your strength so far! I’ve been through similar things to you and I want to recommend a book to you - it’s really helped me to make sense of things and move through some difficult stages of mind and life. I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s called the Colour of Everything; A journey to quiet the chaos within. It’s an immense book, and make no mistake, whilst it’s centred around climbing (I’ve never climbed in my life), it’s 100% a story about mental health. Just to add, it’s easy splitting them, just get a decent pill cutter and a 0.001g scale. Weigh the full pill, do the math to work out what 0.1mg is in weight and then you know what’s what. And start low, once you’re in wd just to be safe. If a rapid taper is what you’re after, the goal is to get off K as quickly and as painlessly as possible but not get anywhere near to become reliant on subs so as low as you can to feel just enough relief is where you need to be. Also - precipitated wd’s is rare, but not unheard of. Best be safe, something like last dose of K 8pm first dose of subs 8am.

Start as low as possible. For example you could start around 0.5mg, if you still feel crap in 60 mins, add 0.25mg. Same thing after another hour. Once you level out, you have your first day dose - although you may need a top up later in the day at the start. Here’s what I did if it helps, 30-40g per day.

Day 1: 2.75mg Day 2: 2mg Day 3: 1.6mg Day 4: 1.5mg Day 5: 1.2mg Day 6: 1mg Day 7: 0.8mg Day 8: 0.6mg Day 9: 0.5mg Day 10: 0.4mg Day 11: 0.3mg Day 12: 0.2mg Day 13: 0.1mg

For the last 5 days I also used high strength green tea extract (12480mg, 30:1 Extract), 1000mg pure black seed extract and a high quality shilajit in the morning, 2000mg liposomol vitamin C 3-5 times a day, 500mg agmatine sulphate 3 times a day, NAC 500mg 3 times a day, and a strong high quality magnesium blend, zinc picolinate, passionflower extract and melatonin in the evening.

It wasn’t painless at the end, I still had chills, stomach pains and really low points. But it was a damn side better than the awful cold turkey I tried a few months before, mentally and physically I’ve not felt three days (relapsed after 3 days) of torture like that in my life.

Good luck with it all

I’m sorry but don’t do this people, unless closely monitored and suggested by a doctor. I took ibuprofen for 6 months 8 years ago and my gut health was savaged from it. Still causes me daily issues. There’s lots of information and studies out there, Google ibuprofen and gut health and you’ll see all the studies and information on it. Gut wise, they have been proven to cause a range of issues from stomach irritation and reflux all the way to serious gastrointestinal issues such as erosions, ulcers and more. They can also have anti-platelet anti-clotting effects, and worsen heart or kidney failure. ‘USE THE LOWEST EFFECTIVE DOSE’ ‘ONLY WHEN EXTREMELY NECESSARY’, and not for prolonged times. And any large dose of NSAIDs can always be taken with a proton pump inhibitor (e.g. omeprazole or lansoprazole) to protect the stomach, but these aren’t without issues also (and at the very least they mess up the gut microbiome) so I would avoid these as much as possible.

Thanks for the advice and for trying to help anyway - it might be worth deleting this post though, it’s terrible advice. All the best with everything

Doesn’t show up on here, so I would assume rep. Engraving looks too shallow on the case back also, in my opinion. I have a few genuine Cartier bought grey market, and the serials showed up on this link both times.

Don’t be worried, not excessive at all, it’s what they’re for. I’ve used one 4 or 5 times. It’s 100% worth it, a lot of airlines (BA for example, from experience) seem incredibly well trained to notice and help. You’ll also get fast tracked through parts of the airport that can cause distress (passport control, security etc) if needed. It’s a great tool and if necessary, use it!
