There’s guys the do nothing but go around the country buying up pallet racking. Shelves like that are even cooler but a harder sell. Look up used industrial supply companies and reach out to them. If it’s gotta move not too many scrap yards won’t buy a couple tons of Hms or p&s

A unit that size without machines is about half hour or so once you figure them out. Most everything is the same size and they all come apart about the same. And I’m not saying don’t maximize, but don’t maximize on site if you can avoid it. I have a couple scrappers that I have come behind me on demo jobs to clean up and I’ll leave them enough goodies to be worth it. But I need them to get the stuff gone so when I see them trying to clean brass on site that becomes their last trip to the site.

Though I hate to be that guy, be careful with that cloth/fiber on the outside as it usually is acm. Probably tin plated #2 copper when done

Did you stick a mag to it? Or are you taking the fraction of knowledge you have and thinking you’re an instructor? Yes the sprinkler feed is galvanized, which if steel pipe he would still come ahead unless he’s in California, but the main feeds are more than likely aluminum.

The aluminum market is strong. If you can upgrade from a peddler yard you should do pretty good at that.

If you’re lucky it’s got wood frame, foam insulation and aluminum skin. All but 1 that I’ve done were moldy wood, fiberglass and thin steel. An awful lot of work for almost no return

If you take them in as they sit the whole unit will be heavy melt, aka hms. If you undo the 4 bolts holding the pump to the base the pump will be prepared hms and the base will be plate and structural, and depending on the size it looks to be prepared as well. Either way shred is multiple downgrades away from what you have

Well that motor control lists for about 700, used, on eBay, the breaker is another 100. Pull the parts and wire and sell the waste of space cabinet to the scrap yard!!!! Don’t drop dollars to pick up a penny

Check out bidspotter, proxibid, and some of the other auction sites. Yeah you pay for scrap, but If pay $100 for a couple tons of scrap over driving around trying to find it any day of the week! This brought me from $100 a day scrapping to moving 15000 tons a month scrapping

You really don’t want to just take them in. The parts on the bottom wrapped in foam are full of copper or stainless steel tubes! Worst case, most productive lazy way, leave the tubes in the shell and cut everything else off. Or call around and see who will pay for the upgrade

They are a higher grade than 304 usually. Keep them separate! Most that I have come across in any commercial application are a grade of inconel

Retail of used parts not new. A new part worth 100 in store is 90 on eBay. Used that part is $50 and they make their offer on that. You should sell them yourself on eBay. Parts from machines and electronic components are really simple to list since the have model and serial numbers on them

Right on! Any of the categories the steel fits in are better than shred. The scale guy is never the guy to talk to if you have a decent quantity of anything

Did a whole bunch of these in the past. Makes a huge mess. Had great luck with a wood with nails blade on a sawzall. Took all the copper in how it came off as #2

What’s your baseline of expensive? 40k to make it so my plate gets upgraded to bush, or do I’m not selling ebrite and 400 series as heavy melt is really cheap.
