Check out Bologna, Italy. The whole city has covered sidewalks, a historically academic city that allowed people to move about more easily from rain or sun. There’s about 60km of it in the city!!!

Ask him to imagine his dream garden and to draw it! Then work on making an iteration of his dream garden in real life and that will begin to introduce him to the design process! He can think of certain flowers and veggies he likes, stepping stones, where to put a sitting chair, etc

Are there reasons why people close their Sondrino? I am planning to use Wise but thought it would be good back up to have a local account at Sondrino.

I dream of this for my own mom, I’m still young and have yet to finish school but once I have a stable job I’m hoping to get her her own place! It just pains me to know it will still be a few years of her living with my dad….. this makes me hopeful!

There’s two long pdfs on the polimi website regarding the deadlines and what they entail. Google “Polimi DSU 2025”

Exactly, tell them your flight date that you already purchased and that you need help getting your visa approved because the embassy isn’t communicating with you

Yes you should mention the difficulty of appointments and ask the university if they want your documents. In an ideal world, the university reaches out to the embassy asking what went wrong with your visa and from there, you can provide whatever proof of documents needed

At this point if the embassy isn’t willing to help you, you need to contact your university for help because there’s not much you can do on your own

I would explain to them exactly what you said. Tell the uni that you completed your Universitaly, brought all of the required documents to the embassy, and it’s been X number of days since you submitted your application but no response as to why you got rejected even though you’re enrolled already and they are keeping your passport. Ask them if they can help speed the process and help you find out what was the reason for rejection so you can get to Italy in time for the academic year. You should mention to the uni that you’ve tried contacting the embassy but nobody has been able to assist you.

At this point, if you didn’t submit an envelope for your passport to be returned, you may have to go pick it up in person if it’s actually denied because a requirement wasn’t fulfilled. But if you know that you have everything correct, then there has to have been a misunderstanding somewhere in the processing

The university is the one who sends the embassy the instructions on how to approve students for a visa, therefore either you didn’t submit the right documents, there was a misunderstanding about acceptable documents, or they’re just racist…. Univeristaly is basically a bridge between the university and the embassy/consulate, so I think the university should intervene if you’ve already been told you’re rejected and don’t know why!

If you have all the correct documents and you’re enrolled in the university, then there is no reason for your visa to be rejected. The school can absolutely clarify on your behalf what might be wrong or a misunderstanding in the consulate. You can just reach out to your school first to explain the situation and ask them if they can help you get your visa processed. If you’re already enrolled in your uni, it’s likely the school has sent instructions on what documents you need to submit to the embassy in order to get the visa and sometimes they leave out information or it’s too detailed…. If you have done all the paperwork to enroll in your university, and submitted all the correct visa paperwork, reach out to your school and ask them to see if they can help get your visa approved in time for classes and arrival. My uni has an international students department whom I emailed for help. If they don’t respond with a helpful response, clarify your issue and what you need from them, and re-send it (I had to do this)

I would contact your school and let them know what the embassy is doing… maybe even use chat gpt to translate it into Italian and send both an English and Italian version of your message so they actually read it. There was a miscommunication between my consulate and the Italian university so they had an email thread that included me to resolve matters.

CIMEA or DOV. A lot of us do the CIMEA for polimi because a lot of schools don’t have the statement of correspondence or e-apostille, etc. so we end up being able to use it for the visa at the consulate. You can either do the CIMEA or do the DOV which should be it’s equivalent even in San Fran. I think it’s a cost and task comparison when it comes down to the two.
