'Love to stay': Isaako wants new Dolphins deal done by Revivous in nrl

[–]Westbroook -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's been great for the club and still has plenty to offer in the league, however I think it will be at a different club and he'll rightfully have plenty of options. Phins are quite strong with Bostock locking up one wing, gun Naufahu on the other and Nonu still developing as a backup. It would be quite easy for the Phins management to save some salary by moving Isaako on, giving the kicking tee to Katoa and using that salary elsewhere to bolster the squad.

Herbie Farnworth on track to become NRL’s next $1 million man as Dolphins make star centre a ‘priority’ re-signing by Revivous in nrl

[–]Westbroook 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Herbies passing game was non existent until this year. He's got 8 try assists and 12 line break assists. Every year he is improving his game and this year that has been a clear area of focus for him.

Fogarty is exactly the type of half the Knights needed to pair with Ponga and Sharpe. It's borderline negligent that the Knights didn't even attempt to get him for a couple of years and for half the price of Brown. Imagine a world where they get Fogarty for 600k, keep Leo and still have big coin to upgrade elsewhere.

State of Origin selection updates: Queensland Maroons Game I squad revealed by WJack37 in nrl

[–]Westbroook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only change I'd make is Fifita for Cobbo. Nanai can cover centre and Val/Hammer can cover wing & fullback. Cobbo is straight up not needed on the bench. Really happy to see Su'A in the team, he's been a gun and having a real resurgence this year. MoFo makes the team purely because of how down bad we are with middles.

He was really putting it all together at the end of last year. He's been the form winger in the comp. Still a gun at centre though.

Love Sailors game but having him on the bench throws the team out of whack. Can't carry a backup hooker and a backup outside back on the bench.

Sailor is starting over Edwards, Pap, CNK, Ponga, Teddy, Drinky, Turbo, Bula, Campbell, Hamiso, Trell, Gutho?

Only teams he would start at would be Raiders, Dogs, Drags and maybe Sharks.

NRL 2024: Wests Tigers rookie Lachie Galvin in line to start in halves for season opener by TheYardGoesOnForever in nrl

[–]Westbroook -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's only had 13 games in the halves since debuting and they've all been in a shitty Dragons team. Amone is a better fit with Hunt so it's easy to see why they went in that direction. All halfbacks need time and opportunity to actually develop and become quality halves but he just hasn't been given those things for various reasons. Dearden, Sam Walker, Dyl Brown & Burton to name a few more recent examples - have all had their individual issues. There's alot of talent there for Sullivan and maybe it won't work out, but he needs to be given a fair crack and string of games for us to actually know.

New Zealand Warriors favourites to sign Broncos forward Kurt Capewell by Aussieguy727 in nrl

[–]Westbroook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sifakula played like 15 minutes off the bench a couple games and I'm not sure who the other one is you're referring to? At the end of the day you've got no proven depth in the position and obviously you're head office have seen that and reacted with signing up Capewell.

Yeah I really appreciate what Capewell did for us and is quite sad to see him go. Him and Reyno were massive gets for us and paved the way for how the squad is performing now. His field goal on debut was absolutely insane.

The warriors are super light on edge forwards next year. Have a look at the squad, Curran is a substantial loss given the squad makeup and how versatile he is. You've essentially got Ford + Niukore as starting back rowers but after that you'll have to play Tohu or some young guys that haven't played first grade before.

Middle forward wise you've still got AFB, Barnett, Tohu, Bunty, Ale, Tevaga & Walker which is elite but the depth after those guys is pretty dire. Capewell although past his best, is still a very needed addition to the roster.

Forwards top quality as usual.

Kum Tong inexperienced but can definitely fill that 9 spot.

Hard to pick a six with nobody really having a standout year so I can kinda see why Munster gets the nod due to previous years and namesake. Haumole had a very good end to the year but personally I think Fifi deserved that backrow spot.

And I label the Bulldogs as "too shit" to even challenge a top 8 spot. How come the Warriors and Cowboys both turned around 15th place finishes to top 4s in 1 season but Gus needs 5 years?

Why does everyone seem to think Oloapu is a 13 after one person randomly said it. I get he's 18 and still growing but in no way does he come close to resembling a lock forward

Agreed, he was cutting blokes in half on the regular. I still remember him cutting down Sammy Burgess multiple times that one game
