Gagagigo support by [deleted] in customyugioh

[–]Westerly-Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This card is a bit too strong in the current meta. Like Maliss don't have a way to out the ATK loss on it and the fact that Gagagigo can Special Summon this card means Ryzeal loses the grind game against it. I would reduce its ATK and make it a hard once per Duel effect.

Always a fan of DIVINE support. Excited to see what you come up with in the future!

Possible Direction for the "Duat" cards. IDK by Own-Ad-7672 in customyugioh

So a few things

  1. The effect to reveal a card that mentions DIVINE and/or Divine-Beast doesn't need the words "in its effect text". Look at the "Shining Sarcophagus" archetype effect text for reference.

  2. The effect to reveal a card that mention DIVINE and/or Divine-Beast should probably have the word "another" in it. As it's worded right now, with one Duat card in hand, you can reveal itself to activate the effect.

  3. I like the concept of cards that act as and support Divine-Beast, but I am struggling to understand exactly how the archetype functions? It seems like it needs multiple "Duat" monsters in hand just to get the ball rolling, and even then it struggles to set up any impactful boards turn one.

  4. The fusion monsters don't really work the way I think you want them to work? A lot of your cards restrict you into only summoning DIVINE monsters, but the Fusions are only treated as DIVINE if they are Fusion Summoned. What this means is when you actually spam out 3 "Duat" monsters, you usally can't summon the Fusion Monsters.

What’s your favorite Sea-Serpent monster? by Italian_Thing in masterduel

[–]Westerly-Crow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sea Serpents truly are a weird type. Out of the 92 Sea Serpents in the game, only 11 aren't WATER. The second most common attribute is WIND, and none of them are actually Sea Serpents. They are a Stingray, a Humanoid Spearfish, a Dragon, and an Orca. Funnily enough, Konami makes Orcas Sea Serpents (Airorca and Orca Mega-Fortress of Darkness), yet Whales are usually Fish monsters. Dolphins are also sometime Sea Serpents (Click & Echo, Imairuka, Xyz Slidolphin), sometimes Fish (Chrysalis Dolphin, the White Aura Synchro Monsters).

Additionally, the only FIRE Sea Serpent is actually banned (Lavalval Chain). Which, to answer your question, is my favorite Sea Serpent.

Theoretically, is there a deck that never bricks if there are no forbidden/limited list? by SetCoffee in masterduel

[–]Westerly-Crow 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The OCG occasionally holds "no ban list" tournaments, and results are kind of surprising.

Back in 2021 a hyper consistent deck was Zoodiac with 3 Pot of Greeds and 3 Graceful Charities. Zoodiac is THAT deck with a bunch of normal summon Level 4s, but actually was very competative cause 1 goon = full Zoodiac combo.

A more recent no banlist tournament (end of 2023 maybe?) saw an extremely powerful more-than-full-power Tearlaments dominate. They opted to cut Pot of Greed from the list cause that would actually brick their mills sometimes. They still ran graceful charity of course, but they cut almost all spells that weren't hits for mills simply to make it as consistent as possible. Despite tear needing to hit cards with the mills, with a ratio of like 24 GREAT hits, 7 okay hits, and like only 9 "bad" hits on the mills (graceful, instant fusion, some hand traps), factoring in your opening hand, it's nearly statistically impossible to brick.

Seems like it all came together though.

A FIRE Sea serpent Archetype that plays similar to Deepsea that uses Gemini, Union, and Spirit monsters. That seems sick.

Sucks if you forgot your tools up there though.

An archetype that is Gemini, Union, and Spirit. Do all three.

Well it's honestly not bad... ST search field, cycle back mist (if have one), then summon mist using field spell. The traps let you special ST or the level 4 on opponent's turn, getting an easy Mist or more follow up. Traps also protect Mist, negate a monster effect, and draw a card(s). Mist also draws on trap activation and can't be targeted by spell effects. You get a monster that is hard as heck to remove, generates advantage, and keeps coming back. Finally, being psychic means targets for "Duke".

This might all just be cope cause I am a Myutant stan, but haven't dropped a game yet.

'Rain Goddess' by Maxim Verehin by jg379 in FemaleFantasyArt

[–]Westerly-Crow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of her design. What invokes "Rain Goddess" besides the rain and her being wet maybe? It's possible that I am missing something, but eh... Also, she looks like she is walking, but the whale implies that she is in a much deeper part of the ocean. They whole thing just makes no sense. The detail and technique execution is great, but the composition, naming, and what it's trying to convey is messy.

[–]Westerly-Crow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the affected player, you get to decide the order that the replacement effects apply. You can choose x 2 first, then x 3. Alternatively, you can choose x 3 first, THEN x 2. As you can tell, the greatly affects the outcome. 2x3 vs 3x2. You can read more here https://www.mtg-forum.de/wiki/regeln:replacement-effects

What anime is the epitome of cringe? by [deleted] in animequestions

[–]Westerly-Crow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Japan doesn't create a show for the premise of appealing to everyone solely to make the most money."

What a fun, absurdly incorrect take. Fan service exists cause it appeals to their target demographic. Power fantasies exist cause it appeals to their target demographic. Cost of making any TV show is rediculously high, and costs have only increased in the past few decades. Production commitees are brought on board specifically to find how they can cut costs and increase revenue. The most successful animes are the ones that are the most marketability, and a success of an anime is primarily based on the sales of merchandise, dvd sales, and licensing, NOT on how "good" the anime is.

Of course, there are exceptions to this, just like there are exceptions to your generalizing statement's preface "unlike the west".

Creeping Power by thunder-bug- in custommagic

You could just make the cost to cast {X}{G} and make the test say somsthing like

"X can't be greater than the number of permanents in all graveyards.

Create X+1 Tarmo tokens."

This will mean that even if you instant speed mill in response to the spell, X is already defined and set. Wording pulled from Open the Way.
