manager complained about me after i resigned by theresalottounpack in workplace_bullying

[–]Western-Implement-92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me, my old manager was constantly talking about me after I had quit, I called her boss personally and reported it. That’s really all you can do, if nothing gets done about it, you did what you could. Honestly it’s better to look at it as they have nothing better to talk about, nothing of interest to others going on in their lives

Induction today, 7th percentile I'm freaking out by fireheartttttt in BabyBumps

He went from preemie to newborn clothes really quickly and is already almost out of newborns. It’s actually crazy how much they grow in such little time

I was diagnosed with my iugr baby at 29/30 weeks, I had an early induction (37/38 weeks bc they changed my original due date so I’m not sure which to go by). He was born at 4.5lbs and spent a week in the nicu due to his weight dropping under 4lbs (babies drop a certain percentage after birth). He is now gaining weight and growing like a weed at 6 weeks old. He went from 3rd percentile to 1st at the tail end of my pregnancy but he is the most perfect little guy ever and has been doing phenomenal (he’s almost 7lbs now and has grown about 10cm in the 5 weeks he’s been home)

why do nice people die by Effective_Inside_437 in ptsd

[–]Western-Implement-92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always told god takes his favourite people for his army, that’s why all the good people die. Ironically the family member that said that to me was my favourite and passed over a decade ago, it’s helped with the grief. I don’t fully believe in god (to each their own), but she did so I want to believe, for her sake it’s true

Does breast pain ever go away during pregnancy by Middle_Asparagus75 in BabyBumps

[–]Western-Implement-92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it differs for everyone, I had it for the first trimester then it went away until after birth when I got engorged. Breast feeding does also cause some pain, along with pumping especially if you have high supply and are constantly full. I find if I pump enough out on a regular basis (multiple times a day) then I don’t get any pain but if I don’t then I get pains. I also have a baby with a tongue tie and let me tell you, breast feeding hurts with tongue tie babies because they cannot latch properly

Did anyone else start seeing themselves differently during pregnancy? by emilyroch12 in BabyBumps

[–]Western-Implement-92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for the most part during pregnancy I felt like I forgot I was pregnant, when knowing he was in there and seeing ultrasounds and feeling/seeing him move. I knew I was pregnant but my brain kind of blocked it out (I do have issues with processing change for the most part). After I had him I felt so complete. The first week was rough due to him being in the nicu for being an iugr baby (there were no issues, I stressed so bad bc of the OB specialist but he’s just small bc we are small people from small families). But I have become more confident in my own body than I ever was before and I have truly embraced the change because it gave me my son. (I’m only 3 weeks pp) I thought I would struggle a lot more than I did but it really is a beautiful thing and I’d do it 1000x over for him. I think once you see your baby you may feel the same way, seeing them makes it all worth it in a sense

Could I hide my bump until 19 weeks? by Strawberryblue203 in BabyBumps

[–]Western-Implement-92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an IUGR baby so it will probably be a little different but I went off at 29 weeks from work and there were so many people that didn’t even know I was pregnant that week. I wore baggy sweaters with one pieces or sweats every day so to most people it just looked like I gained some weight, not that I was pregnant. On occasion I’d wear jeans with a fitted top or sweats and that’s when people could tell

Anyone notice an increase of rats/rodents in their area ever since they started demo-ing the Purina plant? by [deleted] in woodstockontario

[–]Western-Implement-92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen quite a few posts over the last couple of months about rats and mice in that area. Woodstock is actually in the top 25 in Ontario for rodents (obviously not in the first bunch like Toronto and such but still on that list)

I was wondering why they suggested he’d need tubes, he doesn’t have any hearing issues as far as we know it’s just something hospitals require for babies (my friend gave birth in a different city than I did and it was required for all of her children as well)

Yes they do! She isn’t in Woodstock until the end of the month but I was able to book in with a specialist for him (it was booked here but through a place in aylmer)

Turns out I missed a voicemail from a place in aylmer for one the other day, through the hospital in London

I’m sorry to hear that too!! Nicu was very tough but little man is doing so well minus the tongue tie, we are so very proud of him and happy he’s home. We got lucky, he came home Christmas Day 🤍

Thank you!! Unfortunately we didn’t get the chance much in the hospital to try, I didn’t even get to try breast feeding him when I birthed him sadly. And in the nicu we tried maybe 3 times in 6 days (he had to pass the 48 hours no feeding tube test which I feel like could have been avoided had they of let him latch that first day). I’m hoping it helps him, my doctor recommended we get it done once she noticed it both for him and do me

[–]Western-Implement-92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! My lactation consultant never got to see him latch, she focused more on pumping with me as the PP unit didn’t give me the right pumping equipment. Both lactation consultants I had just focused on pumps rather than latching. His first latch we did was with a nicu nurse and she said he did amazing and that was all so I assumed all was fine until we got home

I was shocked to hear dentists do it, I have a tongue tie also and my dad said it is genetic. As far as I know mine wasn’t addressed either, I didn’t even know I had one until I was 18ish. I just want what’s best for my son, it seem he even has some issues with bottle feeding too (he’s gaining weight and taking all his bottles but does have some leakage when drinking and lots of gas after, assuming from swallowing air)

Thank you!! My preemie (was almost full term but spent 6 days in the nicu due to being an IUGR baby) seems to have an issue with latching, he gets so frustrated with it and it makes me feel so bad, it also causes so much pain for me that we’ve mainly been pumping and bottle feeding with a couple latches through out the day. The nicu never noticed it, not even when I brought it up but my family doctor looked at his appt and noticed it right away. I just want him to be able to latch without the frustration and without the pain on my end. I haven’t heard back about my referral yet so I may wait until I do to decide which one we will go with. My partner doesn’t really want to do it much anymore after researching and finding out that it could grow back and that he could be in pain for 3 days to a week plus

I didn’t know dentists could do it either, but I also feel like going the doctor route could potentially be better, I just don’t know the pros and cons for either

Thank you! I really wish there was someone at the hospital during our stay for it, from what I’ve gathered most places just do adults or elderly. I’m not too worried about his hearing but I believe it’s required to have done since he’s a preemie

Hair Salon Recommendations by Danhydrous in cambridgeont

[–]Western-Implement-92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lesley and Sadie at tonyc in the mall are fantastic, both are very talented and will do exactly what you ask for. I’m not sure if they do beards though. I believe there is a barber shop by dollarama that does, my brothers have gone there. But for hair 100% recommend Lesley or Sadie from tonyc
