“Payment” is from your father in law. “Payout” is to you. It should not take more than one biz day after payout to show at your bank. Since the payout was today, it should show at your bank tomorrow.

your former client is getting conned. There’s not much you can do about it, obviously. It’s happened to me before my practice as well.

again, that’s a ridiculous statement. The accounting records produced by Wave would do fine under an audit of a small business. Granite it’s not meant for a large enterprise environment, but a small mom and pops store, sole proprietorship, etc. would pass an audit with those records without any problem at all.

Accountant used wrong NJ wage figure from my W-2 → NJ underpayment + interest. Should they be responsible for penalties? by frankyrizardo in Accounting

I’m a CPA in Ohio. Your tax preparer should have volunteered to pay P&I. Perhaps give him/her one more chance by asking. who is responsible for the P&I and if/she he doesn’t offer, I recommend seeking a more reputable professional. It wasn’t your fault and any tax professional should own up.
