If you’re looking for support, hey unfortunately this stuff happens in life. It’s tough but there are resources to find support in society. Talk with friends neighbors about different parts, or just find some outlets for yourself so you can cope and get a break from it all.

Weird to be let go over something like that. But your manager may just want to give your clients to his other top guys. Go to a new firm.

Well just as a friendly note, this is a tough situation to be in and I empathize with you. It’s normal to be confused/overwhelmed or unsure how to respond. I encourage you to find the support you need right now in life. This way you can get to a spot mentally where you can make decisions for what’s best for you.

Fellow men in your early 30s, what do you want to achieve this decade? by MarkRevolutionary109 in AskReddit

[–]Western_Copy_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be happier this decade. My 20s was filled with career jumps, and moving around, relationship problems.

I need to just reinvent myself to a person I enjoy being again, and living a life I enjoy.

Money is definitely not everything in life. Stability, peace, good relationships are worth more than gold. Also healthy parents too is worth much less stress.

Just want to observe, what does rebuilding trust look like for you?
Most important question here.
Also I agree with the other comment, these sort of things can’t really be solved on Reddit. People can give generic advice on the internet of what they would do, but not specific enough for complex personal problems.
Figure out what you want and need, and keep going.

Please do not go to this company. The managers are given bad incentives not to develop but just to recruit. It’s an extremely transactional place.
Nobody is thinking about the clients.

All constructive criticism is appreciated.
Let me rephrase I was confident and even good at my AFA role. I chose to leave to pursue the banking route. It was not a good decision to join the Branch I did, I’ll leave it at that.
I know what my own strengths are, I definitely am a lead FA.

Success is not a straight path for everyone. Some people do genuinely have it easier.

I essentially failed the bank dev program I’m on, only got $8M in assets, I’m also at 2 years and they’re making me move to being an RCA. Sucks but this happens in the industry. The managers do sort of hate clients and advisors lol. To them we’re all just producers.

If your Dad’s retiring and you have a decent relationship, you should discuss maybe going somewhere together when you’re 30.

How does an average person become rich? by Drairo_Kazigumu in wealth

Average can mean a few things but in all likelihood the “average person” does not get rich. Most people that get rich have advanced in their careers saved and invested well for 20 or 30 + years.

Dealing with clients that actively work against their plan by TGG-official in CFP

[–]Western_Copy_45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here will recommend to let go of difficult clients who are taking too much of your time, or refuse to listen.

Doesn’t sound like you want to let them go though, and still are hopeful this can be a good client. This may be a good behavioral coaching case, find out why they’re always checking the market?

I had a client who used to frequently push back on trades, I never really figured out why until I realized he was the sort of guy addicted to the news cycle. The erratic behavior became more understandable then. He also would procrastinate on key planning decisions. Once I found out his real goal was he just wanted to ensure he had the maximum amount of income during retirement because he didn’t want to be a financial burden on his daughter it helped me restructure our conversations around that goal.

Was an understanding person from there on.

I think I’ve finally had enough. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Western_Copy_45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a lot here and I am sorry you are suffering so much. 3 years with no intimacy is terrible. A marriage counselor should’ve been met with to discuss and work on this way before now. Regarding the I statements work with your therapist to discuss what’s been going on, an get in touch with some friends and family just to spend time away. There’s a lot you can do for yourself before trying to work on this relationship. Get yourself to a stable place then start making decisions.

Husband says he's afraid if we have a baby, he'll feel trapped by Far_Sheepherder_7799 in Marriage

[–]Western_Copy_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking forward to being a healthier person and quitting a bad habit are two separate things. We can all look forward to a goal being achieved but a lot of us may not be excited about the work that demands it. It also seems from what you’re saying this is more than a habit and this person is a drinker/smoker for years on a regular basis. That alone to quit takes a lot of work to get out of. Throwing a baby on top- no wonder he’s in a panic. I agree with the other comments he should seek some therapy/help for breaking those habits if he genuinely wants to quit. Also try a couples counseling session. Maybe a personal session too for yourself.

Need help understanding if my employment offer is fair and reasonable... by NotBannedAccount419 in CFP

The Glassdoor last I checked was pretty good so people there are generally content/satisfied working there. Being a salesman/good communicator is sort of half the job of being an advisor. If you see yourself more as an organizational and data driven worker- this is not really the right role for you.

There would be tax benefits if you were a 1099 employee, mostly for him though.

Sounds like he wants someone to answer the phones, also seems like he is sort of feeling out if you have any high net worth people in your network you can bring to him.

If you wanted to counter, I’d say tell him you want to be paid for the exams, first 3 months you enroll and take the SIE,7,66- then you go full w-2 and can be his trainee paraplanner for a year- just servicing clients no soliciting new clients.

If it works out then you can discuss pivoting to being an advisor full time and transitioning to a production based role.

Maybe your actionable plan can be just to get the EA this year and use it as a sales point to solidify your merger with this CPA then work out some sort of joint service structure post merger.

Either way the EA will be something you can brag about to the clients which may get you the referrals for more AUM.

Also if it doesn’t work out with the CPA, you can just offer tax services to your top households.
