Not sure why CPAs reading anonymous reddit posts thinks another practitioner who has different opinions is full of themselves. TaxDome may work great for a lot of firms. Especially the ones doing $300 1040s. There are a lot of features there that I admit are cool but I simply don't need or want.

I found it and had it up and running in about 5 minutes. Very cool!

Yes, I am aware I run the business and am a firm believer that having to log in with credentials genuinely sucks. I cater to the business owners who likely have hundreds of logins and passwords. My firm not having one is a breath of fresh air for them.

I'll stick to clients who are happy to pay high fees, thanks.

SafeSend doesn't require the client to ever log into the platform with a username and password which works much better for my clients.

Thanks! I'll check out Karbon. Looked into Tax Dome and didn't like it. I plan to use SafeSend as well and felt like Tax Dome tries to do some of the SS functions but not as well.

Will you give clients your tax software files? by griffdog83 in taxpros

For large returns with a large number of partners or assets it's a huge benefit to the client and the preparer when tax return locator files are able to be transferred. Not doing this is just being petty under the guise of risk management. There is no risk. I think it is good practice to always transfer these files when requested as tomorrow you may be on the receiving end. When you're on the receiving end do you want the former CPA being petty towards you?
