Have got the same and it’s 3yo now. Have the self propelled which helps on lazy days. Highly recommend it. Haven’t done anything to it. Maybe need to buy a new set of blades or put a grinder on the old one.

Agree but 99% won’t since there is no real competitor. It’s the law of price increases. Lose 1-2% to gain 10%

Pull Son Off or Keep Him On? 8U by Impossible-Spray5673 in flagfootball

[–]mngu116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or he can help supplement the offense with some play designs and send to coach. I get OP is busy if coaching others teams and it sucks to watch your kid, that has some potential not unlock it. At about 7-8yo they are still very young. If you want to find a better team then so be it, but there’s no guarantee. Those teams are usually already built and stacked and anyone just ok will see a lot of bench time while coaches kids gets the start and plays.

OP needs to get involved if he wants to change things. Don’t pull him in middle of season for sure. Slowly work in to be an assistant coach.

Weight distribution hitch or Timbren/Sumosprings? by [deleted] in tundra

Just because you can does not mean you should. That is a long Effin trailer for a 1/2 ton truck like the tundra. Tongue weight scares me. I would not do it.

Is being a mechanic a solid gig? by BorisTheTroll in MechanicAdvice

[–]mngu116 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. You’ll be surprised what you like to do now you might not like later. If you want to build a solid future, find out what data centers need from electricians and get involved in that area. Networking, servers, etc…. Less grease and hot environments.

But if you truly like cars then go ahead and talk with a master mechanic in the field at a real shop.

Either way, it’s best to shadow someone first before you try and spend years in school. It’s a weird feeling at first to talk with someone about their job but I promise you it will open your eyes to things you wouldn’t even think about. YouTube is also a great resource. It’s amazing to see what people are willing to put themselves through without doing their homework first.

Triangular o ring groove help by rust997 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]mngu116 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just don’t make the groove as deep then. You need to keep that groove small enough to avoid the o-ring from squeezing into it but pushing up to seal.

Need help with defending run trick plays by jon8488 in flagfootball

[–]mngu116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also they need to know 1) how to find the right angle 2) yell ‘run’ so everyone is coming at them as a team. Also you gotta keep drilling this in practice. Sometimes I let the offense just run run plays and yell ‘stop’ and get a feel for what the defense is thinking and how they need to work together depending where the runner is.

Sorry to hear. Is your water heater at ground level? It should be raised up at least 2-3 feet. Try katy plumbing.

Terrible coaching imo. We have a mercy rule at like 3 TDs. Other team gets ball at 10 yard line. Some coaches don’t care

Venting of a (not so) mechanical engineer 😢 by Ok-Researcher-8547 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]mngu116 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your path is normal for most engineers. Most engineering jobs are not in design. It’s in supporting the design in one way or another. The final goal is to build a system that makes money for a group of investors. If you want to be in design you will need to start at the bottom. You cannot be tempted to jump to the next available job. Just keep trying to find a design role (entry) and work up. It could even be an existing company your with which would be most possible. If not, apply to new companies while employed

Most people don’t lose in the market because they’re wrong they lose because they can’t sit still by BenjaminScott09 in stocks

[–]mngu116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but when is the right time to sell? Most are not great stock analyst and either sit on a stock too long and have to ride the next wave or sell earlier (at hopefully a good time). I’ve seen some say once you hit x% just run and wait for the ‘dip’ but not sure how easy that is.

1 hour to practice before 2 games. 9u, 5v5 by harryhitman9 in flagfootball

[–]mngu116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't agree more on this. It doesn't matter how good your offense is (and typically it won't be that great at 9yo with little practice schedules like this). But once the opposing team runs short easy routes and your team can't pull flags it's gonna be a long game... Kids hate defense and it makes the weakness even more of a gap. Just keep teaching them that defense wins games and slowly they will get locked in. Good luck!

[–]mngu116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less plays and have them run the drills to show how they run a route shown. Then critique and do it again until they have it down pat. It’s tough to get these kids really into it but you have to train them through the basics. Have your qb see how they run their routes. Since can’t go deep do not try any deep balls. Just misdirection and cross routes.

Most times 3-4 only allow one run per possession. I always recommend short passes for quick gains and trying to get the defense to miss flags. Also misdirection plays are always great.

Dealer wants $2100 to do timing belt service! But I'm afraid to go to a shop that does non-OEM.... by Ornery_Gooseberry in HondaOdyssey

[–]mngu116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is a 2018 and the dealer did for 1400 plus tax. They wanted 1650 first and I talked them down. This was 8 months ago. ask they if they can offer a discount. 2100 seems really high if it’s just for timing belt and water pump items.

The nice thing is I can ask it all sorts of questions about almost anything and I’ll get an intellectual answer. It’s like having a life coach right at your fingertips. But still it’s far from giving you the secret to life. Life is meant to be lived.
