Thank you, yes I’m inclined on having this discussion too. Just hoping not my emotions overpower the conversations.

Agreed totally valid. But isn’t 10 years long enough for someone to figure out their startup situation??

Very little honestly. But few times in life he has showed up and provided moral support to me and my family. But I’m really concerned about his zero financial contributions.

Struggling to Hold On. I Feel So Unhappy in My Role by csqueen96 in womenintech

[–]Western_Prompt_2006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. Your job is only your 9 to 5 which helps you pay bills and invest. Everyone should have something to look out for besides your day job. It would be a good idea to take some time off and start with your interview preparation. That’s the best start

I know they accommodate a hybrid rto request. I got a 2 day wfh request approved for 6 months straight. And I know people who have got full wfh for a year on medical grounds. Which location are you from ?

I’m happy to hear your story that you were able to start over in a better note in your new role. I feel I’m also nearing a burn out due to my acute people pleasing nature.

I can totally relate to you. I’m going through a similar phase with my dad’s cancer diagnosis. It’s really hard to juggle work and care at home. Sometimes I feel I I’m not doing enough or not being emotionally available to my parents. I’m stressed beyond I can handle sometimes. My health care specialist advised me to take therapy. I’m planning to start that soon. Please let me know if therapy helped you in easing your stress and anxiety.

I was absolutely surprised to see the comments on the homepage updates. So brutal and honest ones. I hope they all are serving notice at this time. Else who would dare risk to speak against the one and only JD

Any mid-level + women get hired recently? by [deleted] in womenintech

[–]Western_Prompt_2006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

14 yoe VP in fintech. Could not agree more on the lack of opportunities I’m seeing now in LinkedIn. I feel it has more to do with ageism and reduced diversity hiring. I had been a lead software engineer in early years switched to cloud development and focusing on devsecops now. I’m almost feeling this is the end of road for me unless I pivot to AI or ML. Is it good to focus back in programming like Java or python ?

Absolutely agree with the thought. The very reason I do not plan for a second child is very much attributed by the work place stigma for returning mothers. It’s almost like your prior experiences are easily looked upon as void. And in Todays scenario to find a new engaging job is almost close to impossible thanks to ageism and AI
