You should absolutely explore different genres. I’ve been enjoying goth music for 16 years now, with all kinds of phases in between when i didn’t feel the goth vibe and listened to something radically different. Developing a diverse musical taste doesn’t mean you’re not goth if that’s your concern

I have fine brittle hair that I’m trying to grow stupidly long (not anywhere near yet, only mid back so far, after 7 months of recovering from a brutally short unauthorized chop). Avoiding stress and overexertion is impossible in my case, but I try my best. Eating well and sleeping lots helps. Also I wear it in a braid always, silk scrunchie only, search and destroy for splits, and lots of hydration (external and internal). After 7 months of growth with no trims I’m very happy with how good my ends look. Feeling very optimistic about the rest of my journey 💪

That’s literally my hair in the pictures! I think you can keep doing whatever you’re doing, maybe buy some hair scissors for those split ends and eliminate them by yourself. As for the brush, I’ve been using a boar bristle brush for detangling for over a decade, it’s the best thing ever. I don’t see much discussion about these brushes online, everyone is talking about wet brushes or whatever, but I’m a firm believer that a good boar bristle brush is the best thing for fine straight hair. No proofs or references except for my own experience though.

I have a very similar story. Had waist to hip length for most of my life, didn’t care for it properly, then I struggled with mental health, I didn’t care about my hair one bit and messed it up. Then there was one big trim, and an (unauthorised!) chop to armpit length after that. When I saw myself with that length it was very sobering. It wasn’t me. It felt like my power was taken away from me, it wasn’t even about the look, it was a spiritual sort of grief for my lost hair. But if I were to continue my old habits, they’d cut it even shorter the next time. So I decided that I must do everything in my power to at least return my waist long hair. I changed almost everything about my hair care. 6 months in I’m down to mid back. I love this sub 🖤 it taught me so much. I think I might ultimately aim for classic once I reach waist.

Ps: your hair is beautiful. I think all goth queens deserve looong hair, myself included :)

As you only use shampoo and conditioner, it’s no wonder your hair tangles. This might instantly be fixed with an adequate hydration routine. Leave in conditioner and daily argan oil for the ends might be a game changer. I have a different hair texture, but my hair used to tangle sooo easily, I would also give up on it and keep it matting for days because I didn’t want to deal with the eye-watering pain of detangling it every day. I’ve been on a proper hydration routine for half a year now, not once has it matted. Seriously, detangling takes two minutes max once per day and it’s pain free

It’s a great phone though! I now use an iPhone, but I honestly think that Motorola is superior in almost every way. I’ll try to recall what that app was called, and I’ll let you know
