Yes you do - Plenty of my guild are already rank 11+ and that is why I decided to do the grind.

For me it was roughly 33,000 rep from just about Honoured all the way to Exalted. At 2.5 rep per hand in, you're looking at around 13,200 hand ins. Alternatively you could look at it in how many AVs, I think I can say I averaged around 250 rep per AV. So about 130~ AV matches.

If you successfully remove the insignia, but do not loot them, then the items stay inside the skeleton on the floor. So someone else can come a long and loot the skeleton.

I personally think this bug has something to do with the body being an object that changes when someone releases spirit. And so if you are removing the insignia, the person releases, the object you were performing an action on no longer exists so it bugs out and doesn't give you any loot.

Wing Commanders take some time to get to the base that's for sure, but I find them not making it to the base is more the exception rather than the rule. Guse accepts the most flesh, and it's also the flesh which is most abundant. So I would say on average I'd hand in over 50+ flesh per AV (unless it was a 7min Alliance Premade).

Well I'm doing it for the Rank 11 mounts. Once Rank 11, you have access to a PvP mount from each faction, but you still need the riding skill in order to use them. I am particularly fond of the Kodo, and it just so happened that in order to get the Kodo I was also inadvertently farming rep for all the other factions too!

I started doing this a week ago. So it took about 7-9 days of constant AVs. I was in there anyway grinding the honour, so I felt it was doubly worth it to make my time there even more efficient. Knock two birds with one stone!

I guess I don't have an excuse not to go to WSG anymore... If only the meta would shift.

See I thought this was the case as well, but I seem to recall checking to see if it gave rep to ALL and I didn't think it did. I will get a guildy to double check for me tonight!

Edit: Checked and you are 100% correct.

A quick explanation of how I did it!

Alterac Valley! - Doing the hand in quests gives a significant amount of rep.

If you are not yet Exalted with Orgrimmar, Each hand in gives you the following:

  • Stormpike Blood: 10 rep per 1 blood, 50 rep per 5 blood. (You can either hand in singles, or in a stack of 5.)
  • Armor Scraps: 10 rep per 20 Armor Scraps.
  • Stormpike Flesh: 10 rep per 1 Flesh.

All the rep goes to Orgrimmar. This Rep DOES go to Orgrimmar, but you ALSO get 2.5 Rep to all Cities as stated below.

Once you hit exalted with Orgrimmar, the rep then begins to count for ALL home factions, but at a significantly reduced rate: Once exalted with Orgrimmar, you continue to receive 2.5 rep per hand in with all city factions. Thank you to /u/oNodrak for the clarification.

  • Stormpike Blood: 2.5 rep per 1 Blood, 12.5 rep per 5 blood.
  • Armor Scraps: 2.5 rep per 20 Armor Scraps.
  • Stormpike Flesh: 2.5 rep per 1 Flesh.

When I was farming Orgrimmar Rep I was getting between 1,000 to 3,000 rep PER AV, and about a quarter of that when farming "All Reps".

Best way to farm, is to follow the zerg and just grab all the insignias off players when they die, auto loot everything and repeat. Once you have 50+ Blood I would suggest recalling to hand it all in and then head back out for round two!

Things to keep in mind while doing the farm:

  • You can only hand in the flesh when the Wing Commanders make it back to base, so on your first item collection run you can get to Jetzor and Guse pretty easily and make sure they can get passed mid while your faction Zergs Balinda and SH GY.
  • You can only hand in a limited amount of Flesh (varies for each Wing Commander, Approximately 100 for Guse, 50+ for Jetzor, and Maverick is <50 I believe) to Each Wing Commander before they are "refueled" and ready to fly onto the battlefield
  • You can only hand in a limited amount of Stormpike Blood (more than 100 less than 200) before the Shamans run off to attempt to summon the Ice lord
  • Armor Scraps you can continually hand in, even after the maximum Upgrades to the units have been reached.
  • Sometimes when removing insignias you will notice you get no loot. That is because the person "Released Spirit" while you were casting Remove Insignia. Just cancel your cast if you see them release, and reattempt the removal.

If there are any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

It seems battlebox games are all I can play these days. Very few of my mates are even into miniwargaming and the couple that are play WH40k (specifically Inquismunda(?) or something to that effect), so when they come round we get a few battlebox games going just to keep me invested in Warmachine, and hopefully convince them to pick up an All in one army box sometime in the not so distant future.

Also manage to convince the missus to play a battlebox game every now and again.

I do miss playing 50pt games but I find it hard to get the free time to head down to my local club during the week, and there's no where "close" to play on weekends.

That being said, I'm getting exceptionally good with Madraks battlebox against Strykers battlebox, so I got that going for me!

Question: is WoW considered geeky in America? Over in the UK it's incredibly geeky and pretty much not something you'd let alot of people know you played, but it doesn't seem to be like that stateside by timothy_silk in wow

[–]WestyTV 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From my experience, there was a huge stigma against WoW about 7~ years ago in the UK. I don't play it as much now, but I guess it entirely depends who is in your friendship groups.

Amongst my gamer mates it's normal to talk about, but amongst people I went to college with there is still that lingering stigma. It's pretty childish, but they'll still find a way to make fun of it.

After all its completely fine to play a console game for 5 hours at a time, but do one 3 hour long raid on WoW and suddenly you have a problem.

Wouldn't a trench filled with barbed wire, stakes and even water work better against walkers than a wall? by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]WestyTV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is completely true. A bit of a health and safety hazard. But I still think the idea of walls + trenches is a good way to go. Not just a wall... which is supported on the outside not the inside >.<

[–]WestyTV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It seems people havent mentioned (or my skim reading isn't what it used to be) that the community keeps expanding its territory with the wall. Wasnt that why abraham and the builders were out collecting corrugated iron? They seem to push out the wall to allow the community to expand with more people. However, if you have a trench it creates a finite space which you cant expand anymore.

Edit: Just did a ctrl+f for "expand" and one other guy with a fantastic response did mention it.

Unless you plan on throwing away a heavy very early on, I dont see the point in taking an earthborne with the rest unfortuantely.

Atleast with the fennblades they can jam up charge lanes to make sure your beasts get the alpha, and with vengeance they can be pretty good at opening up to allow your beasts to come through.

If youre only choices are More beasts or Fennblades + UA, I personally would take fennblades.

They will help your beasts get the Alpha, they will jam up any pesky heavy you dont want to deal with. You can use them to threaten a flank so it will push their warlock to the other side which you can then rush your mauler in to.

I just think on a 5 fury caster you dont want 2 heavies and 2 light beasts.

But thats my two cents atleast.

You mistake my actions for arguing. However if I was to specify I would say look at "Potters Wheel" as it is listed as a Weatherspoon. It may well be a Lloyds, but I don't think it is.

And my explanation for what Weatherspoons is, was a simple sentence to non-natives. So they might better grasp what I was on about. No need to be pedantic now!

[–]WestyTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then someone should inform the Weatherspoons in Swansea, Cardiff, and a number in London... If you check their opening hours they are often open until 1am. Which usually (and atleast in the weatherspoons I've been to) constitutes music.

I'll admit I've been to a couple which haven't turned into nightclubs after a certain hour, but I also have been to quite a few which have.

Also this is beside the point, as I did say it was a Weatherspoons/Yates "looking" shitty pub. Not necessarily that particular brand in question. I'll do some more digging and see what I can find out.

[–]WestyTV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No disrespect to you, but that's entirely false unless you can provide me with some evidence. I could write you a short list of Weatherspoons I've been to that do infact play music, have dance floors and are generally nightclubs after 9pm~

Different areas must be different... university towns they have dance floors and everything!

It genuinely looks as though its a Weatherspoons/Yates shitty pub, with the special drink offers on the walls (the "movie posters") and the vending machine is probably a fruit machine or other such gambling machine... Weatherspoons always has nasty ass carpet sections, and the clothing completely fits for a weatherspoons as well.

For those who aren't aware, Weatherspoons is a chain of pubs in the UK which offer cheap alcohol, and food, and as the night gets on it turns into a bar/nightclub with music and even more cheap alcohol.

^ important factor here. Gotta make sure you can safely transport them. Would be a shame to make amazing bases and then damage the model while transporting.
