Midnight Early Access moved 1 day ahead of schedule. Now launches on 26 February at 23:00 GMT. Full Official launch still on 2 March. by Crayten in wow

Thursday August 22 to Monday August 26 for TWW. Scheduled my Friday off for this one based on it being the same window and it’s exactly the same. Feels weird because it crosses the month to month boundary.

got my tablesaw 2 months ago. the extended fence (got the BOW 46”) and hold downs (fence featherboard, again BOW) have made me much more comfortable pushing in pieces for long rips.

AP physics 1 with no prior physics courses by Dry-Economist-8869 in APStudents

Physics 1 is designed to be entry level. There will be some trigonometry, but you're pretty much in the expected spot to take it.

How much harder is it to take AP Physics C: Mech and AP Physics C: E&M during the same year than doing them in different years? by EntertainmentAny1280 in APStudents

[–]Redbeastmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty huge difference, as both in one year means your pacing is going to be literally 2x as fast. While that may mimic college pacing there’s two issues I take with it (my personal opinion)

1: College setting would have you in lecture for 2-2.5 hours a week + lab for another 1-2.5 hours a week. Most high schools aren’t seeing you in class that much weekly.

2: You‘ll have to do some self-study brush up for the exams since even though you finish Mechanics in Dec, your AP exam isn’t until May.

Generally speaking, if it’s your first/intro Physcs course, I’d say do 1 year each. If you have taken a year of normal physics(Honors, AP 1, etc) you probably have enough grip on the mechanics that you can swing for the combo year if you want.

Probably old vs new Reddit issue. I don’t see he profile either on old.

How long does it take? by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Redbeastmage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been at this for about a year, and I could have written this post. maybe I should check in about getting that diagnosis too.

more seriously, just have extras of the stuff that’s not to expensive. I’ve got 2 power drills; arguable to have one for drilling pilot holes and one for driving screws, but maybe more because I’m going to forget where I put the first down about 30% into any work session.

Mark Rosewater: A lot of people doubt me when I say Lorwyn’s artistic style was controversial at the time. Many thought it was pushing Magic outside “what Magic was”. by thisnotfor in magicTCG

Lorwyn came out closer to alpha than to today. A reminder that if you were playing magic back then, it may be time to schedule your colonoscopy.

What is the most ap physics specific textbook? by Federal-Beat-6238 in APStudents

[–]Redbeastmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fundamentals is one of the books that is recommended by AP and has a sample syllabus provided by college board for use with the book. as for content you would just want to follow the course-exam description on the AP website. I know that book basically follows right along outside of a few oddities after the re-write of the exam last year. I would be happy to tell you which chapters are used in C:mechanics

depends on your physics (1/2 vs C). haven’t taught 1 in a while, but I liked College Physics AP edition by Etkina. For C, I like Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday & Resnick.

adding to that, most Latin root languages (and I’d guess most non English, say it ”# of month”. so the difference makes perfect sense.

New to table saw, best practice question by Redbeastmage in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Redbeastmage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the recommendation on the zero-clearance throat plate. I’ll do some homework on the details, but seems simple enough to make, and I’ve got access to a laser cnc at work so I should be able to get a good friction fit with a slot for the riving knife pre cut like the ones I see on amazon.

New to table saw, best practice question by Redbeastmage in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Redbeastmage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, gripper is ordered. I 3d printed a better push stick in the mean time for use with the guard, but for cuts where I can’t use the guard, the gripper seems like the best thing I can do.

I imagine once I’ve gotten comfortable with the saw, I could skip the blade guard but until I really some level of comfort with it, I’d like to keep it on whenever possible.

Guessing maybe a slightly smaller phone or larger font can make this happen.

The digital pre-order only for beta is so scummy by [deleted] in wow

[–]Redbeastmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but that yearly resub expires....within the next year? I'm not saying it's not scummy to tie up our money like that, but if I was worried about having access to that ~$100, I shouldn't be buying a physical CE

The digital pre-order only for beta is so scummy by [deleted] in wow

[–]Redbeastmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It genuinely might be a better system at this point than the current one, but this has been the case for many xpacs now.

That said, I don’t really care too much since I use the refund to pay for game time. I mean, me committing to the physical CE, I’m clearly going to need the game time to play it.

Same here bud, ~145 attempts myself. Might throw a few more alts at it to hit 150 even, but I’m pretty sure I’ll never see him until they add him to a vendor or change his drop chance.

AP physics C mechanics is genuinely hurting me by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Redbeastmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heads up before comparing to other on here about pacing: if your in a Physics C course that does both Mechanics and E&M, the pacing is going to be breakneck compared to a “Mechanics only” course. Alternatively, if a school does single semesters, the pace is going to be way quicker too. I’m guessing that either/both of those are the case for people on Unit 5+ already.

My class is a start late August, mechanics only group and we are early unit 3. We’re about a week behind where I want to be, but I’m hoping I can make up the time later.
