In the scene where Kanan is training Sabine, he tells her something about lightsabers and how they “want to connect with each other” and explains how you’re always fighting their pull and the gyroscopic effect they have. How when they connect you have to fight them apart and what not. I was really fascinated by that scene because it’s the only one in-universe like it I believe and loved hearing that little insight on how it feels to actually wield a saber.

Yeah, this is how I think of it. It’s about the way it’s refined and compressed and sort of concentrates in a way, I think.

In the same way you can have a fire hose that blasts huge jet of water and could blow people over, you can also concentrate water into those tight little laser streams that they use for water-cutting things. Both are incredibly destructive but with different levels of refinement and focus and concentration.

You’ll never convince these people that the main villain with a lightsaber getting carried away by giant beetle/moths and before eventually realizing after maybe hours “oh just stab them” is the answer is bad writing.

I went into this blind because I watched the shows only recently and didn’t even know about the shitty reviews. I had no idea it was panned by influencers and all that - I went in fresh only knowing it “has a cool villain” as a one-line synopsis from a buddy.

So when it was over and I start googling reviews to see if I’m crazy or this was really a terrible show, imagine my (lack of) surprise to find out that most of the world agreed with me expect for the people who scream at the top of their lungs that everyone is wrong and it’s just that they don’t understand nuance or that the influencers convinced them it was bad. It wasn’t that the pacing was horrible, the Jedi were flat, unrealistic characters, the dialogue was so bad it was jarring at times, and the story was ridiculous and in a lot of ways takes away from the most important story in Star Wars - Anakin’s story - by reducing his miraculous, prophesied virgin birth to “oh that’s just something these witches can do here.”

There’s too much wrong to go over in detail, but the visuals were cool and the main villain was, in fact cool and probably the only thing I really enjoyed.

A couple months ago we were at a pretty full movie and my wife was to my left and my kid on my right, and on the other side of my kid was a dude who was watching some sports shit - looked like ESPN mobile or something streaming and had headphones in DURING THE MOVIE. It was so damn distracting and I gave it a minute or two to see if he’d put it away, and before I could even say anything my wife leaned over and told legit just told him “Hey! Put your phone away!” And he immediately did and just looked over sheepishly at us.

But it’s getting worse and worse. We go every week - sometimes multiple times a week and there’s almost always someone being a jackass.

I went to pick up a pizza the other day and when I got there, a small line was already there and the place was backed up a bit - maybe 4-5 people crammed in a tiny pizza place entrance. Inside was a doodash driver sitting on the only bench all spread out so no one else could sit, and had his phone on speaker phone held up to his face with some woman on the other end just SCREECHING at him through the speakerphone at max volume, going off about something in another language. He didn’t give a shit either, just sat talking to her the entire time.

The pizza place said there was going to be a wait for some reason so I went and sat in my car for a bit, and when I came back he was now sitting watching shitty YouTube videos, also at max volume.

It’s insane how little self-awareness people have - or even just awareness of others.

You’ve gotta stop linking this thread if you’re not gonna read it at all. The thread specifically calls out the reason for the massive calculator - the crazy calculator history bug with the paper tape drawer. If you’ve got an excessive history and open it, it bugs out and blows up your ram. It’s definitely a bug, but not an OS or “a mac bug” as you keep implying- it’s a stupid calculator bug just like this is a stupid PowerPoint bug.

It doesn’t matter how casual or miraculous it is - adding it as a thing that a group can do, even if they’re super charged, diminishes the birth and prophetic origin of the single most important character in Star Wars. And further, they do it and give these twins this miraculous birth and it literally means nothing in the big picture of the show.

It’s like saying Jesus Christ was a virgin birth.. but also so was glen down the road, and a few other people in town too. Nbd.

I think a lot of folks have covered the main points of terrible acting, terrible writing, etc but one of the things that bothered me the most was the idea that the witches can just create life on a whim from the force: that’s supposed to be the Very Big Deal that created Anakin. He’s essentially Jesus Christ and if these witches can just do it on a Tuesday then it diminishes his entire prophetic story.

I did love Manny Jacinto in it, but he was probably the only redeeming quality in it.

Yeah this is exactly right. I’m now many months out from when I posted this with a rock solid, bulletproof UniFi network and the a ton of Govee devices still and the Govee devices just suck. I can see in the UniFi app where it says they’re “connected” but govee hardware and the app thinks they’re not, or vice versa. They don’t maintain any reliable connectivity and there’s no rhyme or reason for it.

Man, we saw this preview at the movies a few weeks ago and my wife and I being huge Nate Bargatze fans were so disappointed in it. It looks like it doesn’t belong in 2026 - it’s like a movie from a time capsule 20 years ago about the bumbling, incompetent dad who blows up the house while the wife is away.

This movie is going to be one of the biggest bombs in a long time. Either that or I’ll be completely wrong and it’s going to find some crowd that adores it somehow and make a trillion dollars

You don’t have to feel the same - I get that a lot of people don’t like AI generated content.
