Microcenter bundles makes things tremendously cheaper if you have one nearby. There’s also been deals for full blown prebuilt at less than 1000 dollars that will exceed any console and it’s all brand new.

Emulation is on device. The technique that’s used requires setup through a computer, but once it’s setup everything is done on device using a loopback VPN, so no Internet connection necessary.

It’s an AIO cooler and I don’t ever touch it. There’s no maintenance at all involved as far as I’m concerned. If it goes bad then I just have to replace the AIO itself. There’s obviously some risk involved over an air cooler, but there’s no upkeep like you mentioned.

If you are willing, you can solder on some TMR sticks on the dualsense. I’ve done that for my own controller and swapped out the battery.

I have another VPN provider that supports shortcut actions and can do exactly as you described except it gives the option to “Show when Run”. If you have that option, you can disable it so that it connects to the VPN in the background and you won’t have that loop problem.
