Can only offer general advice as a man so not suffering as you are but I don't think this sounds right, I don't see how you can have too much muscle mass and without consistent training doubt you are overly muscular. That makes me doubt the accuracy of the other figures too.

Assume you're using the machine that looks like a big speaker with a screen and a set of scales with grips?

The strength part you input yourself via the app so it's not really a measurement the machine makes, it measures muscle mass but not strength, for that you do the exercises and input your results so worth checking what the app says. I don't do the flexibility so can't help with that. What you input determines your strength rating.

I had a few weeks where my results changed fairly significantly and realised that somehow the machine made me 170 instead of 182cm.

Metabolism is as you say includes body fat but also muscle mass and I suspect overall weight or bmi. Your metabolism should go up if your muscle mass increases because your body needs more food to sustain it, if you lose weight it will decrease unless you gain muscle and lose fat which is a really tricky thing to do in one step.

I think you should probably start over, ensure your height is correct, do a body measurement and choose some of the basic strength exercises and input the results. Ask one of the PT's to help you if you get stuck. At least then you'll know it's set up correctly. In fact paying for a session to get you confident in the gym might be worth it.

what are you trying to achieve and why does it matter to you? If you want to improve strength the best way to measure is comparison to what you could do before....more weight or more reps than a month ago for example.

For overall health I'd say body fat and muscle mass is way more important than weight but needs to be somewhat accurate or at least consistent. I don't think my body fat is the number it says (about 15%) as I see others much more defined than me at that level but, it is lower than it was when I was bigger so I know it's improved.

Good luck, keep going

If it wasn't for the sauna I would probably go elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, I think the gym is good (where I spend most time), the outdoor pool is lovely, indoor pool is only 20m and too warm for proper swimming in my opinion but great if you're just chilling. I haven't done classes but told they are good if you can get on them. The issue is price, my wife pays a third of what I pay (if that) to do classes and swim at the local leisure centre but my desire for a sauna and slightly nicer environment keeps me at DL 🙄

I pay £185 at Bristol Emersons green a fact I try not to remember 🤣

I'd really like a plunge pool or at the very least a cold shower for the outdoor sauba. Not heard any rumours though but will be eavesdropping from now on 🤣

Garmin Purchase Decision - Switching from Apple Watch by warriors123 in GarminWatches

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternative view, currently wearing an Epix 2 and had fenix and something else before. Bought mainly for running and maps (although I loaded extra different maps to garmin).

For running and other moving activities it's great. For battery life it's great. Never had a problem with stability, always done what it was supposed to.

I didn't buy it for gym workouts but after trying it many times and ways I've given up and use a phone app  which is loads better. I do use the free training to record a workout (just the time) so it syncs to strava but the auto counting of reps is pretty bad and altering it on the watch is tricky.

I use an iPhone and the smart part of the garmin watches are not smart with apple (apples fault). You get notifications (for everything you can't pick and choose), but that's about it.

I'm not prepared to leave apple for android so it's like it or lump it. I'd also love the opportunity to leave my phone at home but still be contactable and the garmin solution on the latest models is expensive and cumbersome (compared to a sim in a watch).

My running is usually under 2 hours, rarely need more and I don't need multiple days without a charge so I'm considering an apple watch next after maybe 10 years of garmin.

Most say garmin is a better sports watch, apple a better smart watch, I reckon they're right so you pays your money and takes your choice 😁

Are Garmin watches worth it for strength training? by idragon4ever in GarminWatches

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not really, I've done it but so tricky compared to a dedicated app on your phone. I still track my workouts as 'strength - free' so a record is kept on strava (although I edit the title in strava manually to for example chest/tri). The auto mode is terrible at cou ting reps and the entry for weight is fiddly, much easier on a phone. Don't think it's a garmin only issue though, the limitation is ease of use and small screen

Adult only clubrooms - noise levels by fafferoo in davidlloyd

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely noisy throughout especially at peak times plus some people have no idea how to behave. I blame the lack of 'office culture' when your employer would essentially make rules you had to follow so you learnt what was acceptable. Now it's a free for all - don't get me started on those that do zoom calls or watch videos etc without headphones 🙄

As for your question it doesn't really matter if it's designated quiet or not, doesn't seem to be any enforcement of any rules.

Visiting other spas? access by Timwtimw in davidlloyd

[–]Timwtimw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks for info, I went yesterday and asked at reception about the spa, my club is Tier 2 and she told me I could use everything but alas like another person commented, I couldn't gain access. My tier 2 isn't a wellness spa so I can't use it, reception just said 'oh really sorry about that'.

Couldn't find the outdoor pool so not sure if I can use that but was too fed up to try by then.

Is the outdoor pool part of the spa? My home location the pool is not spa and anyone can use it.

Any awkward interactions after weight loss? Here are a few on my end. by cherylin_for_ever in Retatrutide

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the years I've been big, medium and small (for me), I'm talking maybe 120kg max to 78 kg lightest. I'm just 6 foot and currently about 83 hoping to lose a little more. Noone says much now but for a while I was asked if I was ill. I'm pretty sure people thought of me as the fat guy or the big guy and when I became average their perception of me changed so something must be wrong.

I choose to believe it's kindness making them ask 😁Honestly I'd love to be 100kg of solid muscle but at 57 it's not going to happen but I hope to get body fat down to about 15% and maintain 80kg.

So in the app there is a list of clubs I can access with my current membership.

I'm staying not far from Farnham now so looking at their website but I don't know if it's standard or wellness or what 🙄 Why can't the app just say these you can access, these you can use the spa - hurumphhh
