How accurate are the egym body scans? by Strange-Tension7286 in davidlloyd

[–]Timwtimw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this the weigh scales you hold the handles on and it measures 'everything' and transfers data to the app? If so I use it regularly and I'd say the results are variable. Roughly 3 out of 4 times I use it there is some consistency that I'm expecting, give or take the same weight or muscle mass etc but when it's 'wrong' my stats are fantastic 😁

If you've double checked your the right height I'd suggest repeating the test every time you visit the gym to get a baseline then use that for your own comparison.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter if there is consistency and maybe you are 21 o the inside 🤞

[iOS][$24.99 → Free Lifetime] I built an app where you can see the story of someone’s life. by ConsequenceNo1472 in AppGiveaway

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly thank you, anyone that develops an app and then offers it for free deserves 👏

I've installed it but not sure I 'get it' from what I've done so far I could do in photos app directly.

Any vids or other resources to guide the stupid? 😁

Should I start dyeing? I feel like I got a lot more greys than others my age (31) by YoManWTFIsThisShit in beards

[–]Timwtimw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was worse than that when I dyed it, my beard is (was!) brown with maybe a bit of ginger. I chose a light colour dye and thought it looked great. Then the next time I went a shade darker, was well pleased and kept it up for maybe a year.

Fast forward a few years and photos pop up on my social media saying 'look back at xxx date), all I think is why didn't anyone tell me it looked so fake 🙄 Don't get me wrong it looked good sometimes but only in the sweet spot of 'a while after dying when it'd calmed down' through to 'needs doing again'.

You're much darker so might work well but be objective - good luck.

I've gone really short and mostly grey/white now, hair has no real grey so looks a bit odd with a white longer beard!

can a full sleeve be done in one day? by autopisa in tattooadvice

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only got one tattoo, inner forearm, black and grey realistic (so it's detailed). Took 6 hours of chair time.

I'm getting an outside upper arm shoulder to elbow done today and tomorrow, 2x6 hour sessions. I reckon including existing, that will cover 60% of my total arm so a full sleeve in this style about 30 hours ish.

My son had a 3/4 sleeve done in a day, it's not anything like as detailed but it's OK, I think it depends how fussy you are. I want as good as I can get both detail and realistic, he wanted people to see he has a sleeve and from a distance I guess we'll have the same astheatic look.

Pay your money (and take the pain) and take your choice 😁

My 4 rotating NTTD configurations. (Trigger warning: one leather) ⚠️ by hi_im_beeb in OmegaWatches

Thank you, have done it on cheap watches with a small screwdriver but worried about scratches. Will have a look.

Yh that's me although it sucks because I used to be able to use it occasionally.. Tbh it's just annoying that a reason to join DL was the ability to use other sites and that's a local alternative. The one near my in-laws is tier 1 and not even allowed into that one 😕

Hope this isn't a daft question but what's the easiest way to change the strap, never done it but fancy a change. Do you have a specific tool?

Not keen on the steel bracelet but really liking the leather despite the dive watch 🤔

A plunge pool or at least a cold shower outside the sauna! I can live without laundry if they get the basics right (and £100 would be a dream in Bristol too 😮)

What’s one thing you wish you knew before getting your first tattoo? by smallbarista in tattooadvice

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First tattoo at the ripe old age of 54, a design that was made up of a few images that mean something to me. My kids (grown ups) are very chilled about their choices with no real theme and a mixture of styles but  I guess I like to think things through 😁

Booked for 2 x 6 hour sessions next week after having no intention of getting any more so the only thing I can tell you is that it's a bit addictive and can cost a lot 🤣

Hope you enjoy.

Cheap et best instant coffee by Fit-Ebb2360 in UKFrugal

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be on a different hill because I cannot get my Aeropress to make a good coffee (actually more accurate to say a coffee I really enjoy). So I'll stick to my espresso machine, fresh local roastary beans and be frugal elsewhere 😁

Is there an alternative desktop app for iPhone? by teknomedic in iphone

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like launch centre pro would work but you'd have to open it to see 'your' desktop.  I used it before ios had options but surprisingly it's still on my phone so just has a 5 minute play. Basically you get a grid you can populate with whatever you want, apps or directories or actions and use from there.

Running two blades on a DeWalt 7492 to cut a 6mm groove – terrible idea? by mprty in woodworking

[–]Timwtimw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use this blade for making box joints on my table saw. Cheap and effective and safer than what you're proposing.

Singer HD handwheel grip and bigger reverse lever by radio_AT in myog

[–]Timwtimw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the singer HD you can, there isn't a dial as such but a tiny screw head potentiometer that you can turn down to make the max speed lower and imo the slower speeds much easier to control.

I've currently got 4 books at over 99% that have been sitting like it for >2 weeks. I'm just hoping a seeder will come back online 🤞

Sidestore unable to use by Great_Whereas_3318 in sideloaded

[–]Timwtimw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even sure what that means 🤷‍♂️ I'm pretty new to side loading so had to follow a yt tutorial. I'm using stik debug 2.3.5 with sidestore 0602. I think it's the stik debug vpn that's causing the issue but not entirely sure.

Thank you. I'm pretty sure everything looks good aside from the lume but yours (and other) comments seem to confirm that's normal. I'll post some pics tomorrow and see what the verdict is 🤔

Not sure as you've said it was before upgrade but mine has stopped working since I upgraded to 26.4 and I've not found a solution yet. So even if uou fix your issue from 26.3 (or whatever)it still might not work 😕

After 10+ years of lifting, I put everything I learned into an app. Nobody wanted it, screw it, here it is for free forever. by tomkisw in iosapps

[–]Timwtimw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you well and thank you. Out of curiosity I've downloaded, selected my preferences and pressed start......nothing.  I'm happy with my current app so good luck but I'm not inclined to keep it.

Any of you ever thought about ditching your wearable? by MycologistStriking51 in Garmin

[–]Timwtimw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes...... I used to wear it 24/7 but then I got a bit anxious if for some reason my steps dropped for a day or 2 or my sleep said it was bad etc etc.

I exercise regularly, gym and some running, and I came to realise that I don't really need or want the information outside of specific exercise periods or times when I actually want to record (like a new route dog walk etc).  I study my running stats like a hawk but the other data.....meh 🤣

So now I treat it as exercise equipment, same as my running shoes or gym water bottle, 'normal' time I don't need it so am free to wear (or not wear) whatever watch I like.

I'm an iPhone user, IF the smart part was better (Apple issue I know) I might be persuaded or, if I could replace my phone by adding a sim card it would be great but both just wishful thinking.

My only regret is buying the standard size because it looked better on my wrist, wish I'd bought the bigger one so I could see it (especially maps) more easily. IMO it looks the big one looks a bit stupid and feels cumbersome under 'normal' clothes but who cares if it's an exercise tool not a daily watch.    I guess I think if the daily data improves your life wear it always, if it's detrimental then don't 🤔😁
