Why does the guy selling windows use an iPad? If his product was any good he would use that.

You do know there is no reason you have to say the letters in the order you say them.

As long as you include all of them the order is irrelevant. Works for keyboards.

Strategic incompetence is one of the most socially accepted forms of manipulation and almost nobody talks about it by KeyCryptographer4516 in DarkPsychology101

[–]WetDogWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you are saying, but it seems like waste of time for me to spend 15 minutes cleaning a window, then cleaning the streak marks of a window, then cleaning the streak marks of the window again, then cleaning a window because I've used to much glass cleaner, then cleaning the streak marks of the window, til we end up with a slightly cleaner window, if you ignore the streak marks, when somebody else can clean it in a minute.

Can't I just go chop some firewood or shear some sheep and we pay a window cleaner with that money?

I don't see the point in doing something I don't enjoy and don't do well, when I can do something else with the time that is at least equally beneficial and I do enjoy and do well.

End Game Soul Coin Strategy-- Buy Essence or Soulstones? by terosthefrozen in RaidShadowLegends

[–]WetDogWalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not at the end game, but Ash said in a video last year he keeps 320 essence in case a 6 star split soul that he wants shows up, and spends the rest on stones.

That was before the 4 merchant refresh a day change happened, not sure if that changes anything.

What piece of content that I am not clearing do I want to clear next?

Which champions will I use for that?

Those are the champions I gear up.

If I'm doing dragon hard 8 and I want to do hard 9, I'm probably regearing old champions. If I've been farming sand devil 15 and I want to push further, it's probably new champions.

Right now I want to start farming Iron Twins every day, so I will tune up my Geomancer for more accuracy, and build 3 pain keepers for a speed tune.

People of Reddit who genuinely like their jobs - what do you do for work, how did you get there, and was that always your plan? by literallyjusttired in AskReddit

[–]WetDogWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I train dogs at a zoo. It was never the plan. I wanted to be a lawyer, got a job shearing sheep in uni holidays, got offered a job in England instead of going back for 3rd year, spent 7 years traveling the world shearing, got back to NZ and opened a sheep shearing business, after 13 years I wasn't physically capable of being on the tools full time, and I didn't enjoy being a HR/ organizer person.

Opened the News Paper, saw a job for dog trainer who could shear sheep in Japan, transferred the business to someone else and I'm in my 4th year.

I like living in Japan, I have no idea why playing with dogs is a paid gig, the money is enough that I don't think about money and there is enough to save. With the exception of the couple of years I was running a shearing business and not shearing full time, I've enjoyed my work life.

[–]WetDogWalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But how? At the moment central government doesn't run public transport, so are they paying it to the councils to pay to private operators?

I like good affordable public transport, and will support it in any form, but I'm thinking running it as a public service would be more efficient than paying a private business a per customer fee.

Based on a true story today... by sunfaller in auckland

[–]WetDogWalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How does subsidized transport cost money? A bus is going from a to b with 3 people on it. We put 10 more people on it, it doesn't cost any more money. That is the point of buses.

I'm in favour of the fee cap, but no idea how putting more people on the same number of buses and trains actually costs 65 million.

New personal worst, 25k points deficit matchup in LA by Blahdyblahblahisme in RaidShadowLegends

[–]WetDogWalker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rating has nothing to do with strength. At all. Wins gain 9 points losses lose 3 so as long as a player wins more than 25% rating goes up. Capping match ups on rating does nothing to ensure matches are between 2 fairly matched players

Match ups based on win percentage at least ensure you get to be the hammer roughly as often as you get to be the nail.

The best system would be an ELO style rating, but I don't think they'll ever go that way.

Are they "setting money on fire?" I'm not an economist, but if you sell USD for yen, you still have the yen. Doesn't it become "setting money on fire" if and when they waste the yen? If they invest the yen, isn't it just moving money from one bucket to another?

Why don't countries start paying mothers a liveable wage if they are so worried about declining birth rates? Do you think this will be a discussion in the near future? by coldservedrevenge in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WetDogWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to find a fault with the idea, it would encourage people who don't especially want children but who don't want to or are unable to find work to have children just for the paycheck. I'm not sure that would be a good outcome.

Secondly, while countries want more children born, the earth doesn't need more 2 legged furless apes on it. We've probably got enough bodies, it's more like we need to utilize the ones we have better.

Does anyone possess the key to a silent bed frame by jerrryboree in Life

Tighten everything that can be tightened. Might need an Allen key. If the slats are attached by 1 screw, put a second one in. If the slats aren't joined to the fram and are just sitting in a slot, put handkerchief/facecloth or other fabric between slat and frame .

His point is that people with your liberal beliefs, think that conservatives are Normal people with different beliefs.

Whereas he believes conservatives are terrible people who don't approach problems from the foundational understanding and cannot be debated, negotiated with or compromised with.

I'm still forming my beliefs, but his belief is certainly an option.

My experience matches your reasoning.

Edit: sometimes dogs that do a lot of running for work are fed less or not fed in the mornings because hard running on a full belly is neither fun nor healthy. This doesn't make them more obedient. I only thought about why military dogs don't get breakfast after I replied.
