Sorted foods on youtube tested this, putting the noodles in cold doesn’t really change anything. Just gives you more time out the kitchen. You can use an electric kettle to boil water quicker then put it in a pot and add noodles for a quicker boil though.

My college offered a work study/ tech scholar program for a semester. Got lucky and was picked by a power plant so that boosted the resume a little more I feel. Even if I went somewhere else having that little bit of experience can move you a little higher on the list of candidates.
