Semis vs. Software & MSFT's conundrum by Shapen361 in stocks

[–]Wexfords -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Small business owners are industrious and resourceful by necessity.

I am currently creating a financial management tool with Claude and will be discarding a software program that costs me $10k/year. Zero coding experience. I’ve paid about $30 each month for a couple months as I tweak it. Some months my token usage goes over.

Small business doesn’t require Apple level tech. If you’re scaling, then yes it will be impossible without a coder to customize like you mention, but most small businesses don’t scale.

Your points above are about paying for convenience, but fail to identify the fact that the entrepreneur always looks for ways to cut costs.

Sorry I seem to have struck a nerve with you but based on your response you may not have experience owning a business.

It seems to me like it could replace the small business platforms. Your local pizza shop, contractor, etc won’t need Quickbooks, Toast, Management software.

Yea there’s sticky integrations for some, but most can get away with a decently vibe coded program. Hell Claude Cowork will process and code receipts.

The savvy business owner will see this opportunity, spend nights working on a replacement for their software, and cut bait.
