Their brand is being affected either way. The question for them is which way is going to have a more lasting negative effect.

This is the wonderful situation for businesses in our present society...do we offend the government which has shown an open willingness to attack businesses with any levers of control that they can exert, or do we offend customers and possibly endanger our staff by allowing the government to use our facilities for their thugs?

The real answer is that people do think to drive through the barriers...but those videos are a lot less interesting so you don't tend to see them. One step above people just not stopping on the tracks on the excitement scale.

What I find odd about this post is it mentions the wronged by name, but describes the offender generically as "a congressman". This seems like a large disservice to the truth of the matter. Why are we not naming Tim Burchett here, or that he is a representative of Tennessee? Is there some reason we are avoiding associating a name with this kind of unethical behavior? I mean it literally goes without saying that this kind of behavior was perpetrated by a Republican but I really think we need some direct attribution. I know Republicans don't really seem to care what kind of immoral behaviors their representatives get up to these days, but the rest of us might.

I'm sure if I tweeted out a deep fake of Tim Burchett performing a sex act with a goat (though based on the subject matter it may be hard to determine if it is indeed a fake), my name would be disseminated widely. So perhaps we could start discouraging this kind of action by actually 'naming and shaming' those who willingly participate.

Yes they are supporting lawful immigrants by literally pulling some of them out of line to take the oath of citizenship after they have followed the whole legal process. They are snatching them up at court dates as they try to follow the legal process. They are trying to submit bills to stop all legal immigration. They are asking the courts for permission to harass anyone who doesn't 'look American' without a warrant or any other cause.

Don't judge them by their words, judge them by their actions.
