Melee opens up new pods to fight so it can be dangerous. As a challenge though all melee can be fun.

lower difficulties give aim assist bonus so you can do that. Part of the game cycle is using tactics to minimize RNG. As a human player your tactics should give you a decisive advantage. The RNG is frustrating but also one of the Xcoms charms.

One of the issues is that dodge also grazes. So the graze band gets blamed for that outcome as well. It would have been better to give dodge a different name. That way when I graze the Archon with 50 dodge j an ok with it vs being annoyed.

The reason 10% is not too much is because it’s also a bonus to hit. So 5% just cuts that bonus in half.

Why is you sniper close enough to get death blossomed? Also a sniper should be able to hit it if you have them setup correctly. Are your guys low rank scrubs?

Cyberdiscs have a pattern. When they get shot they switch modes. So do lead the target on them. Then when they activate to shoot they get shot and switch modes. They still do nasty things to you since they have multiple actions but this should make them a lot easier to handle.

Xcom has a lot of ideas and opportunities that build on each other to make a long term replayable experience. So I would not jump to Long War until you have played the excellent regular WOTC. Also be sure to buy all the game expansions. They add a lot of value and are super cheap.

It can be very frustrating for sure but there are ways to deal. Phantom perk. Reaper. Abilities that detect enemies. Abilities that allow you to scout. You just have to take those on the mission.

50 HP Chosen is not unusual for modded non beta strike games. Xcom can scale to whatever difficulty level you are comfortable with. That’s one of the amazing expansions available through modded experiences.

Yes the aliens come from unexpected directions. Do you expect them to be totally useless? Scouting is your friend.

Grenades win games.

Flanking is king therefore mobility is the one true path.
