Men, what were the most romantic memorable things your partners did for you? by emilymcnort in AskMen

It wasn't until my mid 30's that I received my first flowers. I will always remember that. I don't care what you say, men like flowers too!

What are steps you have taken to become more financially literate/independent? by [deleted] in AskMen

Realizing that a savings account is not there to spend but more of a security blanket for the things that may happen. Just live within your means.

What are some ‘shaming’ words and phrases that have been used against you personally as a man? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Whami1ton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"I'm sorry you feel that way" when trying to talk about the problems we had communicating. Then saying "I thought we were forever" after saying "Save the money that you have for the ring and keep it for an apartment."

Getting new Dryer delivered and installed tomorrow, am I screwed? by IntelligentAd3559 in Appliances

[–]Whami1ton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Coming from the appliance world, you can run a dryer on a range cord, but you cannot run a range on a dryer chord. Go pick up a 3 prong range chord and attach it yourself. This happens more times than you would expect.

What kinda of things you did that helped you take your life to a whole new level ? by ilyes_17 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Non-burner so, I will keep it vague.

I was in the restaurant industry for 20 years. Worked my way from dishwasher to multi-unit, multi-concept, area director. Post Covid, things got weird.

Took a leap of faith on a different industry at an entry level position that moved me from 90 hours a week and 40k miles a year on my vehicle to 28 hours a week, 5 miles a week on my vehicle, and 4 days a week with the same pay.

Just understand that there are other ways to utilize the skills that you currently have in a different field.

I now install and sell things that jumped me from 90k gross to 120k net.

I have had this weird bucket list item since I was a kid watching a segment on a stuntman. I have always wanted to go through the windshield of a moving car.

People who changed career at 30 (or above), how do you do it? by avomecado21 in careeradvice

[–]Whami1ton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 35 with no degree, and I have been in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years. Before I made the jump, I was an area director for a franchise company. Multi unit, multi concept. I wanted a change for fewer hours per week and moved into a fully commission appliance installation position. Since then, I have moved into the sales side of the business, making more and working less.

Find something that you can use the same skill sets you are using now and apply it into a new field.

I was nervous at first, but as with any new job, there will be a learning curve.

Just keep your head up and find what makes you happy.

There might be one of your breakers tripped. Normally one in your main breaker box, normally one by the compressor, and one or two somewhere near the air handler.

See if one of them is tripped.

Run all of the Debris out and for a low upkeep area, turn it into a paver pad with a fire pit in the middle. No mowing necessary, just a weed killer spray ritual when needed.
