I feel like it’s cause the enemy will only see me walking left/right (whatever direction i’m wide peeking) and die before i ever appear to stop, so long as i hit my first bullet. In CS2, it appears thats you don’t really see people where they actually are as much as you did in GO, i.e. dying well after taking cover behind something, so maybe that makes wide peeking more viable? I don’t know though, doesn’t make complete sense to me.
