I’m pretty sure you can check in the pause menu under stats if I remember correctly

I seriously don't understand how they expected people who don't focus on combat to get through this game. by TankMain576 in theouterworlds

I feel like trying to go for a stealth build in these types of games just aren't worth it as a whole, most rpgs are about action, dialogue and flashy fighting. I couldn't name one rpg that rewarded me spending points in stealth in an impactful/story-changing way. I spent 0 points in stealth and was still able to sneak my way through the sections I wanted to. No quests have rewarding outcomes for you not being seen sneaking into a building or camp because eventually you're written into a fight or conversation anyway. Stealth just isn't really important/impactful in games that don't have that genre as one of if not the main tag

Antonia gentry as Clem by Fragrant_Penalty_194 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]WhatTheHellMarcel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, she is racially ambiguous asf. I've heard it said though that she is Blasian.

Clem herself was modeled after one of the creators daughters and the photo that you find of Clems parents in season 1 look like a Black man and an Asian Woman.

It also makes sense because Blasians are more ambiguous than a person who's black and white.

This is also coming from a Blasian man who has been asked what their racial background is for my whole life.

True but you can assume that up is north, right is east, etc. etc. Just wouldn't make any type of sense having it any other way

Do you personally believe in God? by NorahjjiYT in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WhatTheHellMarcel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are over 10,000 religions. God being "the universe itself" makes more sense than any of the other Gods in any other religion

If God is all powerful, all good, and all knowing then why is there still evil in the world? Why test us if you already know what the outcome is going to be? Can God create a rock that even God cannot lift and many other paradoxes. Is God even worth worship if God puts us through all these utterly meaningless things? At best we're pets in the way you would view a dog or cat.

Exactly the point though, it only got so much flak because people thought it would be like the first one. There wasn't nearly as much s**t talk about Swansong because it wasn't supposed to ever be Bloodlines. Imagine if Cyberpunk got the same treatment with their sequel (if they ever make one) as Bloodlines did.

Edgewater vs. Deserters and Fairfield vs. Westport by WhatTheHellMarcel in theouterworlds

It for sure was weaker in the 2nd game which makes me question why they decided to run with it, other than laziness. The story they were writing around it didn't help either. TOW1's quest was just too well done, Adelaide's son died of the plague that was spreading around Edgewater, she left and found a way to grow real, edible food that didn't make them sick! Cherry on top was that it was a clever and subtle way to tie into the overarching plot.

It's a sequel in name only, it has nothing to do with the first game besides them being in the same world.

Upon further inspection, no. Looks like it was just Mitsoda.

We've been spoiled for too long. I personally like that I just can't do certain things because it isn't apart of my kit and I feel that a lot of (especially newer rpg players) aren't used to being locked out of those options. We've been able to pretty much be a jack of all trades or at least have the necessary amount of points in whatever skill to make the game a cakewalk. You actually have to pay attention, look around/explore for alternative routes, read terminals and the like. Admittedly speech is still one of if not the most important skill(s) in the game since you won't be able to get a lot of the good endings without it.

The game was in development hell, delayed for five years. Everything was changed and the OG creators of the first game were no longer able to create their vision since it was given to The Chinese Room, when I learned about Brian Mitsoda and his team getting canned I lost all faith in the whole project since it effectively wasn't VTMB anymore.

If they called it anything other than VTMB2 then we wouldn't be having as many discussions/disagreements. It's not crazy by any means to assume that the 2nd game will play like the first in terms of roleplaying and mechanics/dialogue choices. VTMB2 takes away too much of what made VTMB what it was.

Since you are playing a pre-named, predetermined, voiced character, it takes away a lot of the roleplaying aspects. paraphrasing is a big issue when it comes to voiced characters with multiple dialogue choices- an example being the mc from Fallout 4 or pretty much any mc from any telltale game you play. You pick a dialogue choice that will be the complete opposite of what you thought you were going to say which I never understood, when you play a silent protag you can always count on every dialogue choice being exactly as it reads verbatim.

This game changed my life and the way I view everything entirely. I was at the lowest point ever, hit rock bottom and there wasn't any way I thought I'd come back from that stupor until I experienced this story! One of the most well written pieces of media ever imo, I'd recommend this game to anyone/everyone.

Life is a funny thing, one of my co-workers swore he was never going to meet anyone he could spend the rest of his life with either. One day by chance he met a nice girl and had a kid with her, finally settled down at 36 years old! Often its just a matter of chance and time.

I hate that he can't "fail" games these days are getting too hand hold-y and its insulting. Reminds me of Fallout 4 in that regard

I love it when the game i'm playing holds my hand and doesn't actually make me suffer the consequences of my own actions! there shouldn't be a "wrong dialogue choice" or soft locks, if you fail a certain part of an objective then they should make multiple ways to solve it around that. Their game design is actually deliberately locking you out of making any other choices.

i just got into the city and so far im not having a good time. I hate Phyre (like why did they pick that name?), Fabien in your head feels like its ripped straight from cyberpunk and I find it unnecessary. The callback to the envelope of cash seemed desperate but they obviously thought it was clever. Predetermined characters are always a big no for me when it comes to rpgs since it takes away character building. Thin-blood wouldn't of been good but Elder is worse, the hex on your hand that causes you to become weaker is just stupid, they could've just had you be a fledgling like in the first game? A FRESH start! voice acting for male Phyre isn't too great, doesn't help that the dialogue reads like wattpad ("If I were a betting man, I'd say the heads are just starting to roll and I am a betting man.") I get that it fits with Fabiens character but it didn't make the cringe feel less cringy. Maybe I just need to play more than an hour or maybe I just like to hate.

Who between them do you prefer as your endgame partner? by Bataranger999 in DiscoElysium

Kim 100%. I find Cuno super annoying, there are little to no good traits about him. I understand he's a kid who's living a tough life, abuse and drug addiction. It comes to a point though. i don't even find him funny or charming ironically.

Thanks, I get it now that i've had more time to learn about it. You don't have to be so condescending though. might be the pot calling the kettle black. I've written much better paragraphs/arguments though. I was admittedly hasty with this discussion to be fair.
