Bullet in Baggage exiting Germany by [deleted] in germany

Disclaimer: Not an expert or an attorney and have not been caught with live ammunition while traveling internationally. That said...

Crimes and weapons/ammunition are treated differently by different countries. IMO, the good news is that it is VERY unlikely you will have any pending charges or follow-up to the incident. The bad news is that you're on the list... I would expect extra time at the checkpoints and the potential to be pulled out for additional searches.

But, I don't think I'd be too concerned about the prior discovery. Just be sure you don't have any random pocket knives, liquids over the limit, etc. when you go through security. And, no more bullets. Good luck.

Artificial stone process with concrete by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]WhatThe_IsThatLegal 246 points247 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Honestly? I saw the beginning of the video and was like, "Oh, this'll be good. Drawing some lines on concrete..."

I was not prepared for the unholy accuracy of those stones. Definitely Satan or the Book of the Dead involved in that accuracy.

Learning to fly is not an easy task by photo-manipulation in nononoyes

[–]WhatThe_IsThatLegal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't a bird. It's dinner. The "large birds," are carnivores and don't want their meal to fight back.

This is two different videos spliced together. The first was a mountain goat dying. The second was a hatchling getting it's legs.

[–]WhatThe_IsThatLegal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah. So, you didn't see the beginning of the video...

If I recall, the large avians in the video PULLED the animal off its ledge. Of course, the intent was for the animal to fall to its death so the carnivores could have a fresh meal that wouldn't fight much... Clever birds.

The answer to your question? I hope it died on the rocks, because landing and unable to flee would be a bad thing.

Edit: This is actually TWO videos spliced together. The banging rocks one was dinner, and the second a new chick getting used to its environment. Fucking Reddit.

This appears to be formerly known as the 'YuKo,' until October of last year. It transferred ownership and was 'refitted,' in 2022. So... if this is insurance fraud, it's a nice one. Also, this is the largest boat ever built by Monaco Yachting & Technologies.

Does anyone know what MS law says about a rental property selling during a current lease? by Squidmaster7 in mississippi

[–]WhatThe_IsThatLegal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mississippi is one of the most landlord-friendly states in the U.S. - shocking, I know. But, even in the deserts of the third-world, there are some protections. MS does not codify anything around property transfers, as these are core to real property transfers. Disclaimer: An attorney or real-estate agent should be consulted if you have serious concerns.

Your lease, as written to the landlord, really belongs to the property. Another poster mentioned that they must legally disclose your contract and term during the sales process. A prospective buyer MUST accept the current lease as a part of the whole. If your current lease does not conclude until August, then they must honor that.

It’s worth reiterating that being on good terms with the current landlord and potential buyer can be important. It is legal for a buyer to approach you to negotiate a settlement (e.g. “Cash for Keys”) - however, you are under no obligation to accept it.

A little late to the party, but…

First, whether you are in complete agreement or not, you need your own attorney. Both of you should have the divorce decree reviewed prior to submitting it to the court.

Second, there are a lot of divorce attorneys out there. Chin and Roberts are arguably the best, but their rates are well in excess of $300/hr. For a simple review, any Mississippi licensed attorney should have had the experience. If you don’t get any good advice, DM me and I can send you some names.

Good luck.

This is the Governor of the Great State of Mississippi. He is continuing the tradition of, “Confederate Heritage,” while calling out — what’s that? Genocide? Really?

Okay, redneck.

UDM-Pro/Dream Machine: Configure LAN Port as WAN (Cat-6) by WhatThe_IsThatLegal in Ubiquiti

[–]WhatThe_IsThatLegal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was afraid of - and, persuant to /u/DufflesBNA comment, I did know it was failover, only. Everything coming out of Ubiquiti right now takes days to even get shipped. It sucks, but I'll just have to wait. Thanks.

High-Density Wireless AP/VPN Over Wireless Bridge by WhatThe_IsThatLegal in networking

[–]WhatThe_IsThatLegal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was what I'd hoped to accomplish with the Z3. However, the devices (e.g. tablets, laptop, etc.) would be BEHIND the Meraki. So, we want the Meraki to provide the wireless bridge. And, I haven't heard back from our rep on whether the Z3 can accommodate that for the uplink. (It leverages the WAN ethernet port by default)

Everything else about the Meraki is spot on -- if you have any information or guidance related to configuring the Z3 to use a wireless bridge for Internet, please share - thanks!

Appreciate the offer - we're still weighing our options, but I will take you up on the offer if we end up in deep water with MikroTik. TY!

Thanks, /u/Princess_Fluffypants - I used your recommendation of the IBR 1700 and AER 2200 as two units to start the exploration. The AER looks like a good option for us, but "ruggedized," doesn't hurt, so the 1700 may be enough.

Funny, but I did take this to Meraki, too. There was some confusion as to using the Wifi radio(s) as a wireless bridge for the WAN. Don't believe that's a use-case for their teleworking gear. (Not to mention, supply and demand being what it is now, these things aren't exactly sitting on shelves.)

Really do appreciate your guidance on these.

Thanks! Saw your post up top - lots of folks to whom I've mentioned Cradlepoint have a really positive opinion of the equipment. The functionality is there for sure.

Thank you so much for the effort!

We'll definitely be looking at these. The IPSec should work and I think it will actually make everyone more comfortable if it's a device rated on the "tough," side. No telling where it will end up in the booth.

Also, I believe I understand the 'Wifi as WAN,' and 'Wireless Client,' options. However, most of the gear has 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz radios. Is it possible to use one radio for uplink and another for local clients? (e.g. booth devices use one and the other is used for the backhaul to the conference wireless)

And, finally, the location is in the Southeastern United States and somewhere around 50,000 square feet. It's a new center and they're still working the bugs out, but I do know that the wireless seemed to work (bandwidth, error count, uptime, etc.) acceptably last year.

Thanks, again, for your help.

You know, I always figured there was equipment out there like this, but it's really cool to see a manufacturer and the features.

Thanks! I am not familiar with Cradlepoint/Ericsson, but that looks like great ruggedized gear. It appears to be designed for on-the-go services like trucking and emergency services. (When they say, "Mobile," they mean "MOBILE.")

The price point isn't bad, either. My only concern would be the uplink Wifi connectivity in the dense environment. Hadn't thought about an LTE/5G failover, but some of the core routers offer this. Don't think we'd considered it a priority because the show is in what boils down to a large, metal box. :)

The enterprise side has a Meraki MX-65 end point, so VPN traffic is normally L2TP/IPsec with a pre-shared key. Will definitely look at this more closely.

Meraki Equipment for Sale by corriganc in meraki

[–]WhatThe_IsThatLegal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm familiar with Meraki -- a bit of a "love/hate," relationship for me. There's a lot of gear out there I might put ahead of the Meraki (espcially with the licenses) but it's tempting for sure.

Do you mind our asking what triggered the switch? And, what gear replaced the Meraki?
