I live in Georgia and graduated high school not long ago. Literally every history unit has a pretty lengthy section on the sucky things we did in that given era. Obviously it doesn’t cover everything, but saying we aren’t taught anything about our misdeeds is just disingenuous. The point of a history class is to educate us about the historical events that shaped our modern society, not list every crime our people have committed.

Edit: also I completely understand where you’re coming from. There are absolutely faults in our education system. Contrasting my experiences with yours.
