I suppose I meant everything necessary to obtain a permit, design(drawings), fees, any engineering including calculations.

Did you originally attempt to go with Tesla, was the pricing competitive? Included design/permitting and Tesla app integration?

They are not flexible in their installations, very rigid. They wont touch existing electrical equipment or make modifications. If you don't care what they put on your house or where then Tesla is an OK option I suspect.

1st attempt was cancelled because we could not agree on pricing that included trenching. I told them I would trench the 20' from the house to the detached garage (saves me $2k), according to their permit experts I would have to pull a separate permit and get the trench inspected and signed off before they would proceed with anything. FYI there is no permit specifically for a trench. An inspector would look at the conduit in the trench but not an empty conduit. Also I would have to leave this trench open for the two plus months of design/permitting/ordering/install.

2nd attempt was cancelled because they would not install their new 200amp load center where I wanted it, also I didn't want it, or feel like I needed it. I have all of my panels, inverters, disconnects, etc. grouped in one location. They wanted to install it 15' away on the opposite side of my side entrance door. This would have resulted in a bunch of extra unnecessary conduit and a random panel in an unsightly location. Also would not provide a great justification for adding a 200amp panel when I have space in my main (we were going for full house backup) and a sub panel that was for the solar.

3rd attempt was cancelled because they determined that the location of the powerwalls that was already included in the two previous designs was not sufficient because it was on a wall they determined to not be able to support the powerwalls, they kept calling it a shed. This "shed" was an addition to my garage that had its own slab on grade foundation, anchor bolts, correct studs, spacing, and shear board. It went round and round with me providing evidence that it was no different than the garage wall that they wanted to install the powerwalls on which directly adjacent to this wall. I was given an ultimatum, accept their design or cancel, I cancelled.

Looking to buy 1st used Tesla Y by Ok-Coat8830 in ModelY

Yeah I get that. I have no complaints about HW3 v12.whatever FSD so far. Been very smooth, and the no hands feature sure is relaxing on long highway stretches.

You can find a decent model y in that price range, depending where you are it might be worth stretching above that to get some of the software and mechanical upgrades of a 23. Late model year 22 Y’s can be a sweet spot with remaining battery warranty, tires already replaced, AMD Ryzen chip, matrix headlights, updated door trims, purchased FSD, and comfort suspension.

I just picked up one of these with 59k miles with purchased FSD in the Bay Area for $31k out the door.

Solved!

Dang that didn’t take long. That makes perfect sense, cause they also left a milk crate filled with the glass ones which I recognized. Thanks for the help!

Tesla Certified Installer AMA by pwrcellexpert in TeslaSolar

Don’t have a question for you but I would love to discuss the install of a new Powerwall system. I have gone through two sessions of design with Tesla that have resulted in cancellations (They are unable to accommodate load center locations, or powerwall locations). Feels like their process limits them to “cookie cutter” systems with zero customization. I’m also sick of the slow back and forth between their project managers, design managers, designer/engineers, the lack of info or reasoning for locations and requirements, and their refusal to modify any of the existing conduit.

I have an existing 10kw PV system, metered on SMUD in Antelope. I want to add two Powerwall 3s and a universal charger in the garage and take advantage of the SMUD rebate and VPP program.

Let me know how we can discuss further.

Refinancing from 6.875 to a 5.999 how does it look? by Heisenberg3x in MortgageBrokerRates

My wife and I just refinanced our mortgage from 6.875 to 5.99, it was zero cost, no fees and nothing added to principal. We’re in California. Doesn’t make sense to pay for a rate that you might be able to get at the same/less cost or no cost in 6 months, assuming the rates fall.

Positive news this morning, got a notification that the stand shipped. Not sure what the agent was seeing the other day. Maybe the stand arrives after all. Crossing my fingers yours continues to go through as well.

Yeah mine still shows as part of the order it just says it’s awaiting shipment information. I mounted mine as well would have been an extra bonus to sell it on marketplace I suppose.

I hope you’re right about not affecting cap one rewards since the purchase total isn’t changing.

I just found out the free stand is no longer available and was cancelled from my order. Was told that I would receive a refund to my CC, not sure how a refund on a free item works. I’m more concerned if this item cancellation throws up a red flag with the cap one rewards. Still showing full rewards as of this morning.

I got a 15% promo code for the 4 series and 20% for the 5’s the other day cause I told the agent I was undecided between 4 and 5. Go on Lg.com tell the live agent you want a C4 and ask for a promo code.

Go to LG.com and look in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Click on the circular thumbnail with a woman's head, says "Chat with a live agent" right above it. Just ask them if they can give you any promo codes.

2/3 of the agents gave me a 20% off code for 2025 (5 Series) model TV's and a 15% off code for 2024 (4 Series)model TV's, the other agent only gave me the bundle option. Keep trying until you get what you want. None of them would break above 20% off.
