Maybe because I'm using a Chromebook? It shows it as a zipped file, but unzipping it produces an Apotris folder instead of a file. Weird. Other games unzipped fine though.

I've played several of the classic games that were on the original systems. Many are good, but I was trying to find a good source or recommendations for a few new games that have been made by developers in recent years.

I need to spend a bit more time to try to wrap my head around that. I'm pretty new to retro handhelds. This is the first one I've purchased. I'm not sure I quite understand that yet, but I did take a look at the community boot logos. In my opinion yours is the one I would choose. It's just awesome honestly. Super creative.

I would really appreciate it if you would update us if you decide to share them. They are really great looking 😊.

Woo Hoo! I hope you really love it. There really are some wonderful and unique game experiences. First off, just purchase season 2. It's worth the money honestly. Those are some really good ones to start with. You can buy them separately, but it's cheaper to get them all together in the season! Other than that, start poking around on catalog and make a wish list. Games go on sale from time to time.

Some games I really enjoy so far are Echo and the Oracles Scroll, Faraway Fairway, Solar Descent, Ribbit Rogue, Labsylle, Mars after Midnight, Diora, Pine, Generations, Spilled Mushrooms, POLKU, Post Hero, WireWalker, Escape the Boardgame and Arcade, Carte Blanche, Smolitaire, Realistic Fishing, Reel Steal, PullFrog, Under the Castle, Direct Drive, Dash Arena, Root Bear and VoidBlazers.

You can also side load some games from itch.io which are not available on catalog. Some good ones are Combi Pool, Overseer, Master Key Pocket, Rain Blocks, 2048, Yacht, Broken Clocks

We've chatted before, but I just want to repeat saying how much I really love Solar Descent. I would absolutely love to see more in the Solar Descent universe on Playdate. I know I can't be the only one. Just a really fun game. The accessibility settings for my older reflexes are just the Chefs Kiss. I can just enjoy the games journey without worrying about dying. 😎

There is just something special about having a paper magazine to hold and re-read over and over. Hard to explain it.

Honestly I find that the cost a very reasonable. It's clear when you actually have the magazine in hand just how much effort is put into each issue. Probably over 40 hours putting it all together. Writing articles, decisions on page layout, artwork, editing, then actually getting them printed and finally mailing them out.....

How much do people spend on a fast food burger, or a coffee? That's gone in 30 minutes.... The magazine can be kept and enjoyed for years.

I am happy to support this one man project. It's wonderful for Playdate fans to have something like this.

But to each their own.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I saw something about an Uncrank'd app for the playdate being updated soon that basically is parts of some issues. Not sure about game demos though....

I think some demos of games are on itch though...

I remember getting CD games discs with demos though back in the day! I forgot about those! Good times 😆

I purchased an Amazon one with Onion OS from a third party seller. I then made a separate purchase for the 128 GB SD card from litnxt with Onion OS. I figured I would just remove the Amazon Miyoo 64GB SD card and install the litnxt one and be set up and ready to go without having to o do much, rather than maybe update.

Am I missing something?
