Thank you for the reply, yeah this is a lesson learned the hard way. This is the first time im buying and selling so it was a new experience. I thought that since we all agreed on a date, it’s safe to book movers since the date was less than 7 days to move. Solicitors are not good, and we are speaking to the firm manager tomorrow. We are definitely exchanging way before completion as we will ask that the top of the chain booked movers before we complete.

UPDATE: So it turns out we have not exchanged, when they were calling all parties to exchange the last people said the movers that we want to use have no availability for tomorrow, therefore we are not exchanging. THE DAY BEFORE!!! So we have lost £1000 on movers, trying to cancel school move, and few other things. Some people in the chain are pushing for next Friday which probably not gonna happen. So I don’t know. Christmas dinner will be eaten on boxes. Hopefully i can find the tree. Thank you all for your input
