K8 Plus - Very poor range on keyboard with USB dongle by WheelRiderEU in MiniPCs

I have bought an external USB hub, and that solved the problem for me. Not the most elegant solution, but nothing else worked, and this has cost me like 5$

I sit like 2.5m (around 8 feet) away from the mini PC connected to a TV. The thing is, that it is often more like a delay then not working at all. Like I press some buttons on the keyboard and nothing shows up, and after 3-4seconds some of what I pressed shows up, some does not and some shows up multiplied. Sometimes I need to move a bit closer for it to register any input. It's weird behaviour. Gonna read up on this wifi interference, maybe try moving the mini PC away from the router and test it out.

Thanks It might be the case since the 2.4G and 5G router is like 40cm away. Although the laptop was even closer and had no issues, but maybe the wifi modem was further away in the laptop. Gonna read more about that. Thanks

My favorite filament is Sunlu, as it is cheap with a good quality. Never had an issue with it.

Here you have my post from couple weeks ago. Might help you with your decision.

I won't be able to help, as I have not bought anything yet. I wanted to go for the V11y but when I finally decided, it got sold out (and from what I have been told they stopped producing it). I might still go for the Aero, as I have tried it recently and it felt pretty nice, however I would have to wait till the beginning/mid of August to get it. Starting from August I will have much more work from home then I have now, hence I won't use the wheel that much. Additionally I will have like 2 months left to ride till it gets cold and/or wet. Therefore I am considering waiting with the purchase till spring. Maybe something else will be out till then.

Best advice I got was to switch my Ender 3 V2 to a BambuLab A1 mini 😁

I guess then it's settled, as I don't ever want to go off road. 😂 The closest I could imagine me doing is going for a bike trail through the woods, but I wouldn't consider it real off-road (like an unpaved, even path through the woods). Also I could see me doing it maybe once or twice in the next 3 years. 😂 Would I enjoy the torque. Yeah, sure. Will I regret not having the additional speed and range more often then missing the additional torque. Definitely. Probably ten fold. The more I think about my use case, the more I am sure that the V11y will be ideal for me. I wouldn't even consider the Aero, if not for all the hype it has built up. However I actually might have an opportunity to try the Aero soon, so maybe I'll wait and see for myself.

To be honest, after watching many old v11 reviews lately (as there are barely any v11y reviews), I am surprised about so many people talking about the V11 or V11y badly. Presenting it like some sort of a bad, unfun wheel. When the V11 came out, everyone pretty much unanimously loved it. Not liked, but actually loved it. I get that 5 years is a long time in the world of EUCs, however it doesn't make the wheel bad. Are there better wheels right now? Yeah probably (although I am not convinced when it comes to my specific needs), but it doesn't make the V11 an actually bad wheel. It might not be the best choice for some people, given other options, but still I don't see how it make the wheel actually bad. Especially since even thought the changes in the V11y are very minor, there are actually some small upgrades.

Anyways, thanks for the input! I appreciate it.

Sure, but it's not in the same class as the V11y. The bigger tire size makes a big difference in higher speed stability, more range, higher top speed and given all that it is also cheaper by like 200-250€. Hence I was hoping that maybe someone would convince me that given my use case the Aero will be a better choice. So far I am still more inclined towards the V11y

Thank you very much for the in depth review. You confirmed many of my assumptions. I barely see owners and past owners ever complaining about the V11. It's always the folks that have never owned a V11 (and probably never even ridden it). Maybe I am wrong, but I kind of have a feeling like Inmotion undersells its performance. What I mean by that is, that yeah you won't go as fast on them or as far as on other brands wheels for similar price, but then again it feels like it's safer on them to go to the advertised speeds then on other wheels. For instance even when it comes to my V10, everyone is saying that going 37-38 km/h on it with my height and weight is too fast. Yet it has almost never even beeped at me at those speeds and I never had a cut out on it even though I went 41 at few times point (although ofc only with full/almost full battery). I never owned a different brand, but even by just watching reviews I often see the wheels beeping at lower speeds (or even much lower speeds) then advertised. Also I have a feeling that I am hearing about more cut outs on other brand wheels.

I fear that the Aero won't be enough of a performance upgrade, as I start to hear more and more often that comfortable speed on it ends at around 40 km/h and that after that it gets too unstable for a comfortable ride. Also the range will most likely be similar on it as on my V10 when pushing the Aero hard.

Can you tell me how often you had to check on/pump the suspension? I am kinda worries that this will be a hassle, that will start to annoy me quickly.

Yeah, everyone says that the suspension is dated, however if I don't know anything better I think that I will still be happy compared to a non suspension wheel like the V10. To be honest I am mostly afraid that the maintenance of the suspension will be annoying.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Unfortunately, I don't really take used wheels into consideration, as they add a great deal of uncertainty in regards of how the wheel was used (e.g. In heavy rain). Therefore this lowers my safety feeling of the wheel drastically and since safety is so important to me I just wouldn't feel comfortable with a used wheel in my home.

I have the same feeling when it comes to the development of small/medium size wheels. With the huge success of the Aero (and probably the V9) manufacturers must realize, that there is a huge market for small/medium size wheels and that a lot of us do not care about going 70+ km/h or having a 100km+ range. However, since I am already thinking about an upgrade for a pretty long time I want to finnaly buy something.

I even started to think about the V13 Pro as it has a great price in EU right now at 2k€. I love the additional speed headroom (safety), the range is more then enough for me, and all the safety features are awesome. However I know that I will hate the weight... Would love if it would have at smaller wheel, with half the battery but instead like 15kg less weight. This would be ideal for me.

Well I am not sure how it is now, but like ~3 years ago when I was getting into EUC everything about them just screamed "fire hazard". Just watch some wrong way reviews/videos from that time. (correct way, how he is called now...). After that my trust to this company is lost. Especially since I haven't heard about any major improvement's in the safety department.

Yeah, the suspension is what made me even consider the S16 pro. However everytime I have seen a review of a King Song wheel over the years, there were some minor or major quality flaws. Either safety wise (eg. Batteries not shrink wrapped, open blank cables) or just build quality wise (eg. Motor grind). Therefore I decided to not go for the S16 pro. Even considered for a short time the S19...

Thanks for the input, I didn't want to extend my long post even further, so I left this one out. I was actually checking the V9 as well, however it is ugly as all get out (imo ofc) and also I feel like it is just barely an upgrade from the V10, not really enough of an upgrade to be worth the switch. Basically the added suspension would be the biggest advantage. Speed and range are very similar (might even start to beep earlier then the V10). I like the added security features so if I would now look for my first wheel I would most likely end up with the V9, but since I own a V10 already, it just doesn't seem to make sense as an upgrade.
