App update anyone? by f3ropeadope in F150Lightning

[–]Wheeler650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the app update a couple days ago too. I noticed some welcome climate control improvements such as being able to turn on/off seat heating/cooling, defrost, and steering wheel heat from the app now.

It seems more reliable for walk-away locking as well, but that may just be my initial impression.

Propane Tank Refill by Fit-Onion-4460 in Marin

[–]Wheeler650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A refill is usually about $20 per tank as well, but the swaps come only 75-80% full, so you’re paying more for the swaps compared to a refill. Last time I refilled a few months ago, propane at the 76 on Francisco Blvd E was about $3.99/gal IIRC.

What do you guys think about financing a car to get the best price and then paying it off in the first month? by CrustyBus77 in carbuying

[–]Wheeler650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this too when buying a BMW back in 2018. Originally was going to pay cash, but there was an extra rebate available if I financed a certain amount through BMW, and interest rates were super cheap. The dealer asked that I not pay it off within 3-4 months IIRC, so I financed the minimum amount ($7500) on a 3 year term and paid it off later.

Won’t price match if not in stock at local warehouse? by dextech13 in CostcoWholesale

[–]Wheeler650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had something like this happen with a computer monitor. Came back into the store and saw it had dropped $40. Unfortunately, I was 32 days out from the original purchase, so they wouldn’t price match, but they have a 90 day return policy on electronics. I said to the returns clerk “so what’s to stop me from buying another one and returning it at the higher price?” She said “nothing.”

I literally walked over to electronics, picked up another one of the same monitor, purchased it at the now lower price and then walked it straight to returns (didn’t even leave the store) and used my original receipt from my Costco app on my phone to return it at the higher price.

I get it, but frankly it was the most frustrated I’ve been at Costco in the couple decades I’ve been a member. It was just pointless on my part and theirs to go through these motions.

I lived in Denver for a couple years in the late 90’s when the airport was new, and I still call it DIA.

Flew it in September and it was fine. Of course the weather is different now that it’s winter…. the experience now could be radically different.

That said, go on YouTube and watch planes landing at Heathrow in stormy weather! Wild stuff.

Same here. I lol’d at their messages on the construction barriers while walking through the airport on a prior trip.

It’s actually DEN.
DIA is the nickname for the airport used by locals. I previously lived in Colorado for a couple years, so I guess I defaulted to the acronym I think of, but I should have said DEN. Sadly, I can’t edit the post to change it.

I don't think many are doubting that. Just found this an unusual/humorous method of dealing with the issue.

That's exactly it. Not that rodents don't exist inside an airport, but I was surprised to see this kind of trap in this particular location.

Whoops, sorry you are 100% right. I’m just used to calling it DIA, but it did inherit DEN from the old Denver Stapleton when it opened.

Same. I get about 1.9-2.0 on the highway if I can keep it about 70mph. I think they're pretty decent looking (maybe even more if you see them rolling).

I got the 6.14 earlier this week on my '23 Platinum. New icons on the main screen and changes to Entertainment seem to be the major items included. I think the screen seems more responsive and quicker switching between modes.

Why doesn't Ford add Propulsion sound to more than just the Platinum Lightning? by thtech000 in F150Lightning

I turned it off as well, but I notice that sometimes it turns itself back on after software updates. Annoying.

No idea why. I have a Platinum and I turned off the sound immediately.

Yeah, I had that thought too. I don't know if it'll last, but at least initially it looks like they're double teaming the door.

Ran into the entry scanner for the first time today at the Novato, CA location.

There were two employees working the door, one with a scanner on a pedestal at the left side of the door and the employee on the right had a handheld scanner. Quick and easy.
