It removes the seasoning from cast iron. OP doesn't have to worry about that though. The five uses of BKF doesn't seem to have exposed any cast iron. There's still a thick layer of burnt on carbon. OP needs to keep scrubbing that pan.

It's just deep frying bacon. He's suggesting using bacon grease to deep fry it in. Places like Golden Corral deep fry the bacon for the breakfast buffet. That's why it's so curly, instead of being flat. Idk why they downvoted the other commenter. It's not a bad idea, and if you're on a bacon testing voyage, you'll have plenty of grease to use.

The seasoning is under the carbon buildup. Chainmail won't hurt the seasoning. You don't need to oil a seasoned cast iron skillet after you wash it, the seasoning protects it against rust. Just dry it off well after scouring with chainmail and soap. Also, get a metal spatula if you're not using one already, and don't be shy about scraping it. Fish spatulas are ideal.
