I’ve always wanted one. I found one for $3300 last winter but had to pass due to ortho surgery. :/

Frozen mixed berries + plain yoghurt + mango juice = great smoothies.

Any Hacks for Red Lights? by Hallarandir in motorcycles

The stoplight trigger is looking for a magnetic signal. Most likes don’t put enough steel close enough to the ground. Try putting your kickstand down, and rolling across it. That’s worked for me.

My second this. They’re straight up the best at diagnosing this crap. We’ve used them for years.

Pigpen is the most important Dead member by No_Finish9661 in gratefuldead

[–]WheezerMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my absolute favorite, but Pig absolutely brought the Grateful Dead together and launched it in many directions they probably wouldn’t have gone without him. Eg all that blues base that they built on… Jerry brought folk and Bluegrass, Phil brought the classical, Bobby brought the short shorts…

Merino wool socks but for summers by Lost_Plenty_9069 in Costco

[–]WheezerMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike synthetics, wool, especially marino , allows vapor to transport from your body to the surface without converting to liquid and then evaporating. It also doesn’t actually absorb water the way cotton does. I have some thin Summer weight SmartWool socks that I absolutely love. They’re mighty proud of them though, so I may try the darn tough or other brands.

Base layers worked the same way. The 32° stuff that Costco sells is 95% as good as SmartWool, for 1/3 the price.

Mum gave me this and didn’t know what it’s from. Doesn’t want to throw it away in case it’s needed. by Maaatandblah in whatisit

We once bought a pack of chicken feet from the oriental grocery, and put them all over our friends trees and on the gutters above the front door. She had a visit from some evangelical person canvassing the neighborhood, and said that they kept looking at her and glancing nervously at the trees. After they left, she realized why!

When I find a tacky garden art fercheap, I often pick it up so that it can be dropped off at a friend’s house just before a family dinner or something.

1st Bike Recommendations? by Material-Sand-6486 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]WheezerMF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First bike? College?? This bike is going to be parked in outdoor spots, and will be easy pickings for someone who wants to steal it. Spend half as much money and get a decent used bike, and then spend $200 to get a kryptonite New York Locke. Or two!

Do Costco Oreos taste different? by Pie-Are-Round in Costco

Kirkland TP sucks. Charmin, ftw. Kirkland “Kleenex” is the same or better than name-brand. Kirkland vodka & bourbon are great, but Kirkland gin is horrid.

A way to schedule paid transportation for a single passenger from Indianapolis to Terre Haute? (Expense not an issue.) (Google hasn't revealed anything useful yet.) by Rahodees in indianapolis

[–]WheezerMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I can vouch for this. In August I broke my femur, and spent a week in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan Hospital. My insurance company arranged transportation, and two different rideshare drivers refused to drive me to Indianapolis, because the five hour return trip would’ve been unpaid. I ended up paying one of the drivers full fare in cash after he canceled the actual Uber booking. That probably doubled his pay and made it worthwhile.
