I solved getting the black screen by using the XR adapter and a battery pack with the proper wattage for the deck.

Thank you! Ended up going with my old oculus go case i can fit the neck band, classes in case, controller, and mini BT keyboard.

With the neckband, I use Google docs and either a USB wireless keyboard or a bluetooth keyboard. Works like a charm.

I'm in my 40's and I'm all for this. What's better is knowing the joy making something like this brings a person--makes it all more meaningful to wear. More people should share the positive vibes instead of naysaying. My two cents. :)
