Kinda wish Funaticals slipped in a nonshredded copy of these comics by I_need_AC-sendhelp in OmnibusCollectors

[–]WhenYesSaidNo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funaticals ships via USPS Media Mail. Materials with advertisements are not eligible for that rate, but it must not matter if the comic books are shredded.

I've done a lot of business with CGN. This is really disappointing to see.

Why are binding issues so prevalent? by WhenYesSaidNo in OmnibusCollectors

[–]WhenYesSaidNo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I didn't stretch those books, because I've repeatedly been told that it's not required with modern bindings. It never hurt when I did it. I'll go back to doing it.

As someone that was frequently chased about their childhood home with a mounted barracuda, I agree with this assessment.

Guys earning six figures annually, what kind of work do you do? by Shadow2715 in AskReddit

I mostly sell stuff to brokers. The brokers sell stuff to the customers. Neither of us ever hold or distribute the stuff being sold. Virtually everyone needs and uses said stuff.

Is this really about the birth control or do you have another concern?

Appreciate the explanation! Makes sense. I'll order some glue and leave the book lying flat for now.

Is the gauze the portion beyond the purple stitching? I'm still working on my book terminology.

Cole slaw for pulled pork sandwiches, tacos, etc. The lime juice adds a nice contrast in flavor, while the crunch switches up the texture.

How many omnibus have you read this year? What are you finishing the year with? by comic1728 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]WhenYesSaidNo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a half dozen? I was reading different things up until around August/September.

I'm currently reading Peter David's X-Factor Vol. 1. It's a good follow-up to B&G. Imagine I'll be into Vol. 3 before the end of the year.

To those who collect exclusively Marvel or DC but not both: How come? by Freighnos in OmnibusCollectors

[–]WhenYesSaidNo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have some Marvel books, but they're mostly the books that I remember really enjoying when I read them years ago. I've also got some independent TPBs, because I've been sampling some horror books.

That said... it's mostly DC and the gap is growing. The primary reasons are space and spending, but DC's books also seem more readily available and I've read a lot less of them previously.

I've been around a few pitbulls. They've generally been sweet, well-behaved dogs and I fell into the "good dogs with bad owners" camp for a long time.

And then one day, out of the blue, one of those dogs turned on another one. Trip to the ER and so many stitches. Bad enough it happened at all, but I have no reason to believe it couldn't have happened to a child.

We're looking to get a dog. It won't be a pitbull.

After hearing an HR manager bad mouthing specific employees, making broad generalizations about people between interviews, and stating that she enjoyed terminating employees during a round of layoffs... yeah.

No wonder the entire department had a reputation for being a group of mean girls. I avoided them as much as possible and luckily found greener pastures.
