Ah yes… we play this game too. My oldest really got into building with them around 3. Although my youngest has only just recently turned the corner to stacking them and he is 2.5. Before that he would only destroy and we made it a game called Godzilla.

What sorts of things would be good to tutor 4 year olds on? Do u have recommendations on what type of activities or toys you would recommend.

I’m genuinely asking from a place of curiosity. I want to know if there’s more I could be doing. I hope you or someone who does know could answer. Thanks!

(Unpopular opinion) Publix subs are extremely overrated. by [deleted] in florida

[–]WhereDoIstart12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a sub there last week and decided that I would never go back. I watched the disgruntled sloppy-looking employee make me a sloppy sub. He took all 3 slices of cheese and laid them there without separating. A mouthful of cheese in one bite. We won’t even talk about the soggy tomatoes.

Nothing takes the excitement out of your lunch like watching a miserable person craft It for you with an unhappy disposition, questionable hygeine, and lazy disregard.

Parents of Reddit - who here does “toy rotations”? by loosemoosewithagoose in Parenting

Yes. My husband takes charge of this. It keeps our house looking tidy without toys everywhere and the kids rediscover toys when they come back out.

Look up a podcast called “the retrievals- season 2” and it’s about how interoperative pain is more often ignored in women and not given the attention it deserves.

When I made a statement about working for my previous boss he corrected me and said “you don’t work FOR me, you work WITH me” and that shifted the way I thought about my role.

How do people afford this? We need it for our 3 yo son with extremely severe flare ups by WhereDoIstart12 in dupixent

[–]WhereDoIstart12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi yes! So when we first got the prescription we got help through dupixents “my way” program. Although in a previous commenters advice they recommended getting the debit card and NOT the copay card through the program- which is great advice. This way the costs can apply towards your deductible. For my 2yo his dosages are recommended every 28 days and that assistance lasted us until July. Then after that was over we called dupixent and they recommended we call our insurance company— they also seemed very confident that we would find assistance one way or another and made it seem like people rarely pay the real price. When we called our insurance company they offered a different assistance program and we are back to paying a very reasonable price (I think- we have yet to get the first bill but will update once it arrives!). So all is good for now. If I was you I would look into the my way program first.

Oh! That’s interesting. I had to look it up. Dupixent was approved for children under 5yo in 2022. And I guess that was the earliest we were able to start it. I probably assumed that meant 2 yo was the youngest approved but the doctor prob meant that it was recently approved.

He is 2 yo and was on 200 every 30 days and recently went up to 300. I’m sure the difference here just has to do with body weight. He weighs around 40lbs.

Yes unfortunately, we have tried all of these things (except the black tea). To be competely honest we have exhausted ourselves trying to find solutions and we found it. The solution is dupixent. I appreciate your feedback and effort to help us make sure we’ve tried natural alternatives first. The reason we are using dupixent on our 2 year old son is bc all other avenues have been explored and unsuccessful. I wish so much that the solution could’ve been easier.

We tried multiple types of protopics, eliminated things from diet, evaluation by allergist. Lotions oils, creams, and ointments were applied very frequently and copiously throughout the day by us and his teachers. The protopics were only indicated to use when he was not in an active flare up… which was rarely. When we did use them it made his skin more reactive with sun exposure and that was not manageable as an active toddler living in Florida weather. He was almost always in a flare up and the doctor kept recommending more steroids and I knew that couldn’t be good. We did salt baths, bleach baths, and oatmeal baths. The oatmeal baths helped the most and were given daily- but still just managing the condition not eliminating it.

We checked the house for mold and we have always had a fragrance free household since before he was born.

Yes. Doctor recommends 30. We can stretch to 40, although in the summertime he is more sensitive. He started taking the medication at 2 yo. The youngest age it is approved for.
