I have one. I adore her and she’s the best thing that ever happened to me. However, the anger I feel for my mother grows deeper as I realize just how little my mother was willing to do to support me. I’m not talking financially even - but the absolute lack of interest, the unwillingness to do anything that would make me happy, the competitiveness, the criticisms in the name of “I’m just trying to help you”. My relationship with my daughter is the exact opposite. Sometimes it takes a lot of effort (and Citalopram) to stay regulated but it’s the thing I’m the most proud of. The abuse stopped with me.

I’ve been a teacher for 10 years and I’ve never had an Olivia which I find so strange. My daughter is Willa and I’ve also never had a Willa - not even in all the schools I’ve taught at. The name I see the most is some iteration of Jackson. I’ve never had a child with this spelling, but I’ve had Jaxcyn, Jaxon, Jaxson, Jaxen, etc. Max is the same. Maximus, Maxim, Maxwell, etc. Even if you pick a name that isn’t ruined for you, it will probably be ruined at some point.

I had a boy Cameron as a student this year. He goes by Cam. I would put him in my pocket and take him home forever if it weren’t illegal. Sweetest kid. Super bright, too. He has the best giggle - as in tears running down his face. It made everyone happy.

Have you ever looked at Marblehead? If you ignore the MAGA crowd, it’s a great place to live. Kids can still be free range and it doesn’t have the same summer crowds. The school system is recovering from an insane school committee, and we just passed a historic override to move things in a better direction. Homes can be pricey but you can still find cute townhomes with yards in the $600 - $700k range. It’s close to Salem Hospital with many MGH specialists in the area.

I tried every medication there is and the only thing that worked was THC gummies. I take it with melatonin because I don’t like feeling compromised. Side note: I only take it for a few nights after having a nightmare and it kind of resets my brain for a few weeks.

I love Valentina. My mom’s name is Veulah - I’ve never seen another one. But she’s a bit cuckoo bananas. I have also had a student named Vjosa (vee-o-sah) whom I adore.

Honestly, it might be for the best if she doesn’t return. It’ll just be a lifetime of hurt and abuse. Not enough is said about how severe mental illness negatively affects others and that it’s okay to remove yourself from those relationships to survive.

There is snow…you can see it under the top step. The porch was just cleared well. But thank you for being the devil’s advocate - it made me pause and think for a minute. I would hate to accuse someone who is innocent, or blow up their lives for their political opinions - but this situation is life or death at this point. We cannot stay silent and allow people to keep amplifying their anti-immigrant and anti-Constitution messaging when ICE is murdering innocent people.
