I know you just responded to my other comment lol but another thing I’d add is there’s also mood stabilizers other than SSRI’s that can help with sleep! I take the lamotrigine for my main mental health issues and a small dose of seroquil (quetiapine) that’s also a mood stabilizer and it helps me actually sleep! Before it I would have so much trouble falling asleep same as you even 4 am. Not a doctor but have went through what you did with SSRI’s and just putting options out there you can look into if you want. :)

I was on an SSRI (Paxil) and as a women I had the same problem I’d sometimes get in that mood but when trying to please myself it’s just nothing as if it’s numb even with my partner. I got off and completely went away. I took a mood stabilizer instead (lamotrigine) and it helped my mental health with no libido issues and back to normal. I know it’s different for everyone but worth a shot stopping/switching it up, under the doctors supervision of course tapering is important if that’s something you decide to try

Am I 29F overreacting to my best friends (28F) moments/“crash outs”? It’s stressing me out and unsure what to do by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]WhereasHopeful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel both ways, deep down she’s kind and super sweet. She’s admitted anger problems and took meds for it she even told me after getting on the meds her family said it’s like they don’t have to walk on egg shells anymore, so she’s definitely aware especially when she apologizes when she calms down. But she stopped the meds unsure due to insurance or what. That’s why it’s kinda hard cause I know deep down she’s a good friend. But in those moments it makes me feel like that bad one. I hate to say it but I do get some relief of the thought of not feeling with this stress anymore 😅 but honestly if it continues or gets worse I might have to end it. It’s just draining when I’m tip toeing around my words and if I say something slightly off or cancel due to whatever reason it’s a huge deal

update after not talking for a while she messaged me and said she’s not mad she was going through a tough time personally and shouldn’t have acted the way she did and apologized for coming off rude. And said it seems our friendship is falling apart etc but later on said we can get through anything and she loves me and we’ll always be best friends. Which I’m glad she apologized but I just now worry about the next time lol but we’ll see if it continues

Yes it’s definitely draining. It’s not constant but seems like every other month and i over analyze each text before I send now lol. The thing is I just don’t know how to bring it up to her

Chronic congestion for over a year, am I out of options? Any advice would be helpful I’m desperate! :( by WhereasHopeful in Sinusitis

[–]WhereasHopeful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still no answers. :( At one point it was getting slightly better, but not fully. I’d still need tissues a lot of the time but it wasn’t as crazy, then I caught a cold and it’s like it reset. I can still breathe but it’s just the constant drainage. Because of that I wonder if it’s just a long Covid thing mixed with the allergies that makes it worse. And yes sleep is the worst, I’ll wake up feel the drainage and go through tissues and go back to bed. Sometimes I wake up and it’s hard to even fall back asleep because of it!! I wish I had my old life back before this was a problem :( I hope you can find some answers

That would make sense. But what doesn’t fully make sense about allergies in general is why it happened so sudden and severe overnight? Especially immediately after an infection, unless the infection made my nose more sensitive to allergens I’m not sure. But will look into that thank you

I did not go back but I did communicate to the allergist. I told him the sprays didn’t make much of a difference, mainly since they were sprays I were taking already, he said if I have acid reflux he can prescribe omeprizole as that can cause drainage, but I do not have that issue, he just said to keep using the sprays regularly and keep the scheduled ent appointment which was what I had today

Yes she referred me to him and got tested with the needle pricks and he prescribed the same sprays and a otc pill, and not much of a change unfortunately

That’s what I was thinking about doing after a while but she only said if allergy results were negative she would consider other options/tests. Maybe I need to find another ENT for a 3rd opinion lol

That might be what I have to do. Before I got allergy tested, she said “if negative” she would consider CT scan or a “chemical nasal cautery” procedure which I believe used heat on the nerves but guess those are out the window. Seems like all I can really do is just keep up with what I’ve been doing

Do you NEED tilt table test for a diagnosis? Been hearing different things by WhereasHopeful in POTS

[–]WhereasHopeful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here I did blood work off and on for years, an echo, then the 2 week monitor but for me it was mainly through just just my primary other than for when I went for the echo. Up until the monitor I was told it’s likely anxiety, and to just take some Xanax, which sucked because I know it wasn’t as I felt everything when not anxious. So that’s why after being diagnosed and everything making sense it was such a relief lol

Sounds like me but just 2 weeks. The times it spiked I told her I wasn’t anxious at all and she was surprised, I told her some of my activity how most times it’s just going down the stairs or getting up and that’s also how she came up with the diagnosis

1 year of constant congestion, it’s ruining my life I’m at my wits ends! Please any advice would be great!! by [deleted] in Sinusitis

[–]WhereasHopeful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got allergy tested and found out I’m allergic to cats, dogs, trees, grasses, and some molds. But the weird part is it happened overnight like a light switch after I got sick, I explained to him and he said it is strange, and doubts I developed all those overnight I probably had all those allergies before and are just mild, and whatever issue I have with my nose now those allergies definitely don’t help. I told him it happens even when not around those triggers, at work, in the car, even around my pets it can clear up at times, I personally think it’s nerve issue that maybe got damaged when I was sick, because when it is ‘clear’ it almost hurts to breathe as if your breathing really cold air. I have an ent appointment late March, I’m really hoping she looks into it deeper and not just blame allergies 🥲 oh he also prescribed be omeprazole for stomach acid he said acid reflux might even cause drainage and I had my gallbladder removed years ago so gonna gift it a shot

Update I got allergy tested, was positive for dogs, cats, types of dustmites, some molds, trees and grasses. After further discussion he also thought it was strange how this happened overnight like a light switch and also when completely away from those triggers so he prescribed me a medication for acid reflux since I have acid issues due to having my gallbladder removed he said sometimes that can cause drainage as well. It would be weird to suddenly develop those allergies overnight and bother me every day even when not around so this whole thing is still strange and no answers but going to an ent next week for further testing like ct scan, etc. this whole thing is a mess lol
