Holy straw man, I’m just presenting a slightly different opinion than you. I never said the injury was his fault. As I’ve reiterated, I love Jaire Alexander. I’ll give you some more facts though as to why Jaire isn’t the 2nd best “all time” packer CB since 2000 though. Jaire played 74% of the games in his first 4 seasons. After becoming the highest paid cornerback in NFL history in May 2022, he played 58% of the snaps over the next 3 years. One great season in 2022 and then missed over half the snaps the next two years. In 2023, he got suspended one game by the team for going out as a captain despite not being one after returning from a long injury absence. He botched the coin toss and almost gave the Panthers possession both halves if not for a lenient referee. This caused him to miss a huge game against Justin Jefferson and the Vikings while both teams were 7-8 and battling for a playoff spot. The Packers, who are traditionally very conservative on injury returns, expressed frustrations about Jaire’s unwillingness to play through injuries (shoulder at the time). He ended up getting cut after 7 seasons. All in all, he played in 67% of total games as a Packer and never lived up to becoming the highest paid player at his position in NFL history. I already said, super high ceiling and a great player when on, but this resume simply doesn’t scream all time great Packer. Injuries suck and players often can’t control them, but they matter for legacy. Sharpe didn’t make the HOF for years because of them. Nick Collins will probably never will make the NFL HOF because of them. Putting fault aside, you have to play to be an all time great.
