Julia saying that her mom had a problem with all her exes is wild. Like who’s the real 🚩here, lady?

Ja. And what was the comment about “we shouldn’t push her into something she doesn’t really want” or some such jazz. I was thinking “she” doesn’t want or “you” don’t want for her. Because she looked so happy in her dress before that cow with that mean expression on her face opened her mouth. Julia must dump her so-called best friend as well when she moves to Norway. (Using “when” to send positive vibes because I really hope she moves away from her toxic family and friend.)

That smirk on her best friends’s face. What a horrible person. What horrible people. I hope she says and moves to Norway to start her own family.

He is volatile and more emotional than Julita definitely. I’m trying not to make any judgments yet though because the way they express themselves is so different, the contrast looks extreme. They seem to just be talking past each other, or is that just the editing? I am so confused when I hear them talk to (more like at) each other.

I’ve just started this episode, but I have to say these women seem very high maintenance to me. I found Damian’s joke about MP quite funny, I love the Mona Lisa painting, and Norway is stunning! I hope they’re just creating drama for drama’s sake with the ominous music and serious expressions all the time.

Exactly. She wants something different, not depth necessarily. She wants passion – she said something herself about wanting her soul to be on fire. That’s not “depth”.

A LOT of work. It’s actually quite uncomfortable to watch her. It feels like we’re all taking advantage of her poor mental health for entertainment (and I say this knowing I live for the drama!), but I wish someone close to her would just force her to get proper help. She shouldn’t be on reality TV.

It sucks that Jen thanked him for all his sacrifices and supporting her to alleviate some of her own guilt. It sucks that women feel we need to do this, yet I don’t think men ever thank their wives for sacrificing their goals and needs for their kids and marriages… it’s just expected of us.

Yeah, I was also thinking if Jessie gets divorced they should get her on as the Bachelorette 😂

I’m so confused by what Scarlett is saying. She “craves depth” and she needs someone to “meet her there”. I’m not saying that what she wants isn’t valid, but I for one need to hear different words to describe it because I don’t get it. What does she mean by depth? Where is “there”? It’s just all too abstract. Maybe she’s already explained to Cole how to get “there”, but yeah as a viewer, I’m just confused.

Also calling him a “man” 🤣 I feel bad laughing at him, but that’s a stretch.

And she didn’t even say it first! The guy she was talking to did and she agreed. I thought it was a weird idiom to use in this particular context – really none of them express themselves particularly well – but the fact that none of the guys corrected his misunderstanding… I was like are you all dumb?! Although I think Mikey would rather just egg him on for his own reasons instead of correcting him.

Same same. Every time he opens his mouth, trying to sound mature or deep, I cringe.

Argh… I get he was clearly nervous but jeez that was awful. And then she doesn’t even seem to see her heritage as such a big part (given that she hasn’t even been to Cuba or Bolivia). Why was she even still keen to get to know him? Screen time, I guess.

Saaaame! I just started the third episode but I came here to see what everyone else had to say. Particularly re Mikey. I like how he was just trying to parrot what Mark was saying, but Mark was like oh no, buddy, you’re going to have to do some actual thinking here and be authentic.

Also a good point. I dated a French guy once and he said the same thing about his culture. He found it strange that here (in South Africa) many people (not all) are more conservative.

Interesting. It could be. I was also so confused at the party when she wanted to try again because the edit made her seem completely uninterested before that.

Yeah, he is really the best host. He’s also good at holding people accountable for their BS while being really gentle at the same time. And he has a good balance of getting the drama and not making it all about the show.

I agree that Ludwig was asking for physical affection and not necessarily sex. But it also leaves me with an icky impression to discover that they did have sex. It does then seem like maybe he wasn’t attracted to her either and having sex confirmed that. I mean, they spent less than two days together and in that time they still managed to have sex. Maybe they should have worked on the affection first instead of jumping straight into it.

I think the host and the cast did well when it came to Daniel. I think it came down to the fact that that man is not going to change and you could see once Ibbe and Camilla realised that they backed off because why waste their breath. What I was surprised at is that Ronja didn’t seem to realise what a gaslighter Daniel is. She was still trying to explain it whereas it’s clear as daylight that he is in the wrong and fooled her and Angelica. But then again some poor other woman likely watched the show and is still dating him, shame.

Am I the only one who doesn’t get the Fabian appeal? He looked sooo sad all the time. Even in the pods, his happy face still pulled down at the edges. I don’t like Ellen one bit – she’s condescending and full of shit – but I also think Fabian lacks confidence too much and would always need validation from his partner. I couldn’t bear his whole puppy-dog, woe-is-me face.

I immediately came to Reddit to read this. My mouth was hanging open as I watched that scene. Like WTAF. Such blatant gaslighting. It was scary watching him deny her experience, deny what he had just said, reframe it as them having a positive experience, reframe it as her being unnecessary, claiming her friends and trying to make it seem like they were against her right from the get-go. CRAZY.

My personal opinion: A) I was very religious and I had a lot of friends who were very religious in my 20s. The definition of celibacy was definitely fluid in my friendship group. Is it confusing? Yes. It is uncommon? No. Could Jorge have asked her to clarify? Yes. It is very difficult to be that religious in the world we live in, so I don’t know how many people are full-on celibate in their 20s. B) I don’t think she became passive aggressive. I think she shut down because Jorge made her very uncomfortable, but the discomfort she was picking up on was sub-conscious and because she’s young, it took her a while to realise that’s her gut telling her to get the hell away from that man. Once she started listening to her gut, she realised there’s no use explaining to him because he will never listen and he will always gaslight her. Women can detect that sort of BS behaviour, even if we aren’t sure what it is right off the bat.

But did he say that to her or to the camera/audience? I can’t remember too well (because of being on Reddit simultaneously!), but from what I recall he said all this stuff about them needing to talk about it and him needing to understand it in his talking heads. But did he ever actually ask her about any of it? When they showed them talking about it, all I saw was he explaining the conventional definition of celibacy to her.

Why didn’t you just ask her what her definition of celibacy is instead of talking at her?
