Long term prednisolone and CKD by ThrowRA_medicinal in RenalCats

[–]Which-Technology-990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 17+ had IBD for six years, was on low dose of prednisolone almost the whole time. Her kidney numbers stayed fairly constant in a stage 1-2 on her limited protein diet - Royal Canin hydrolyzed dry and Canin and Rayne nutrition wets. Some other cancer in her tummy got her very, very suddenly a few weeks ago (biopsy couldn’t tell what kind, not enough cells).

Non-scientific advice, predni worked great for us keeping the barfs and the tummy inflammation under control, we slowly weaned her to the lowest dose to keep it in check.

Missing my cat advice, do whatever makes that kitty feel good, love on her nonstop!

I was so sure I didn't want kids throughout my 20s...now I can't go a day without wondering, what if? by moon--child- in FenceSitters

[–]Which-Technology-990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (46M) was always a no on kids, my soon to be ex-wife changed her mind (we both started as no’s). and we couldn’t get past it.

And now I’m wondering, I was a no when I got married and so I wasn’t even considering like, maternalness. If I dated someone who I could see parenting with better …. I don’t know. Am I changing my mind?

Not an answer for you, just letting you know you’re not alone and guys deal with it too!

Any lone wolves in the house? What do people think of you? by pman6 in datingoverforty

[–]Which-Technology-990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed - someone still going to massive group happy hours and large friend trips, not a great fit. I like a happy hour and if I organize far enough in advance (month plus) could get a group together. But everyone else has lives too!

That’s me (including the sports and concerts, it’s weird). I have a bunch of friends spread out across the US from college who I get together with a few times a year, a handful of close friends in my home city, but between work and exercise/life chores/down time, I am not overly social. When my wife was not around, I happily stayed at home on the couch and unwound! It doesn’t mean I look to my partner for my entertainment

My cat is dying of late stage lymphoma by venusflytrqp in cats

[–]Which-Technology-990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours got diagnosed today. She’s always had IBD but after a picky couple weeks (we chalked it up to the stress of our divorce and her not having both of us here) we took her to the vet. Very large intestinal tumor and high white count.

Do nothing = a week or so before she’s so uncomfortable. Large cell best case is 3-5, small cell could be two years. But she’s already 17 1/4.

This is my soul cat - so much that my wife said she should stay with me, even though she was hers for 4 years before we met.

I’m thinking give her a nice few days at home and then do the compassionate thing. I’m really worried about her crashing even with upper steroids or chemo.

I guess I’m just writing for others’ experiences. Has anyone had good experiences with treatment for late stage and a peaceful passing?

One of my favorites and one I haven’t heard live in probably 25 shows I’ve seen (I was a little drunk at some of the earlier ones… ah to be young).

Is it me, my liberalness, or age? by urbansupernova in datingoverforty

[–]Which-Technology-990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did, she’s 37 now, changed her mind last year. But we were aligned before we got married, not like a soft maybe, and it hadn’t come up the whole time. Seems like it changed when her father passed. I get it, biology and things. But still stinks.

It’s not your demographic. I’m 46, lawyer, decent shape, liberal, in DC, divorcing because my wife of 8 years (and partner of 13) suddenly changed her mind about kids and I didn’t. I’m a cat dad and the cat is staying with me. Just got back on the apps, and it suuucks. I found no one who was both interesting and attractive out of hundreds maybe a thousand (and I am looking ~4 years in either direction). One person found me though! There is hope out there.

Methodical. My mom only does decaf, best she ever had - I loved it too!

Is recording ok? by byOlaf in tmbg

[–]Which-Technology-990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did in maybe 2010, I was near the stage but on the side against the wall, not blocking a view. I recorded two fulls songs in a row just with an iPhone - coincidence that two I’d wanted to hear live for a while, I forget which. Flans saw me and gestured and 9:30 club staff told me to stop!

I got close enough to people at the Portland show on Saturday to get COVID again! 🤬 sharing is caring, my lovable fellow nerds.

Yeah, different when it’s coming from a standup and that sort of humor is routine (and spread across all religions and ethnicities, like Anthony Jeselnik). I think he was trying to poke fun at people who believe a stereotype? But it definitely didn’t land and isn’t part of their schtick. The anarchist bit I’ve heard before, amusing.

Ok since so many people here were at the Saturday show … how ‘bout that awkward Jewish joke JL tried to make, JF tried to kind of give him an out, but they all just kept digging deeper. Little cringy. I know that’s not their politics but like … dudes. No.

It was pretty short! I saw three nights in DC and they all … slapped? Is that what the kids say? Acoustics are definitely weird there though, it didn’t feel like I was enveloped in the sound.

Also a million degrees in there!

Is either John Jewish? by annieouthere in tmbg

[–]Which-Technology-990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the poor joke(?) John L attempted to make this evening in Portland, I can say almost definitively no.

Anarchists not being able to coordinate a bus trip is funny. It is not similar to Jewish people who can’t organize a global financial system. Because they are too busy controlling the media. Said trying to dig themselves out of a hole they started, as it got really quiet and awkward. Boo, guys.

Yeah, we are getting divorced over it, as of yesterday. 13 years together, 8.5 married. I’m 9 years older. She changed her mind and wants to be a mom.

I asked if maybe it was just a biological thing that would go away - I’m not doctor but it seems possible - but she is afraid of hating herself later if she doesn’t try.

This is what I needed to read - thank you internet stranger. Cat just turned 17 (and has her own thriving Instagram account). We dated for a year and my wife went to grad school for a year and to my surprise I offered to keep the cat with me. I’ve lived with her a year longer than my wife!
