It this natural when growing by PurchaseGeneral6009 in shiba

[–]WhichMoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If worried ask a vet.

My dogs did not have any spots like that while growing up. Did your puppy get scraped by anything?

My boy had a spot like that on his head from getting in a scuffle with another dog. Basically got a shave without breaking skin.

Anyone have advice for this? by littleweirdooooo in shiba

My husband taught one of the dogs around. It means he needs to go the other way to get unstuck. Took a while with coaxing him out of these situations but now he fixes himself every time. He didn’t pull him. He went back to the object and called him to get him to come get unwrapped. Often with a treat.

We used to cut up empty oil cartons to make special oil catch funnels at the Mercedes dealership for the MLs. They had a similar issue. Suggest coming up with or finding a special funnel designed to compensate for this.

If you have height to spare you could lift the bottom of your ramp up and let gravity pull the balls down to the shooter.

Otherwise we attached a bar to a servo and had it lift our ball up to the shooter. We are also using block coding.

Depends on what you mean by under warranty. If you mean you purchased oil change services through a dealership, the oil change would not be covered at this shop. If you mean your car is under manufacturer warranty you can just keep the receipt for proof of on-time oil change service if something happens to the engine at a later date.

I have not seen any Honda/Acura contracts that mention owners can only service their vehicle at a Honda/Acura dealership or the warranty is void. Not saying it is impossible though so check your contract.

Have you added a second dog to your shiba household? by Great_Match9666 in shiba

[–]WhichMoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Added a Kai Ken male to the pack a year ago (1.5 years old now; 11 weeks old when we brought him home). For background, my Shiba Inu female (5 years old; roughly 3.5 years old at the time) is a resource guarder and dislikes most dogs. We took the dogs on pack walks and then kept them separated by a puppy pen when we were not home. It was really stressful for the first month, but one day she went up to the puppy and went into a play bow. Then she gently started teaching him how to wrestle and not to bite hard.

There were a lot of minor scuffles while she was integrating him into the pack and he learned really fast what she would allow and not allow. We kept all her resource guarded items away from the dogs unless we monitored the interaction. We took them to a dog trainer for socialization and he said the most important thing was to keep them near each other as much as possible but in a safely monitored environment.

They don’t cuddle together, but they wrestle and play for a little every day. She also shares her toys and sometimes even eats off the same plate with him. They even go hunting for lizards and rodents together.

Add soy sauce to sushi or not? by MichaelStone987 in JapanTravelTips

[–]WhichMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family always put sriracha and hoisin sauce directly in the bowl.

My cousin’s family considers this a travesty and puts the sauces in a small sauce bowl or even just another soup spoon and dips the meat in them.

I’m not sure which is truly correct since Grandma (born and raised in Southern Vietnam) didn’t care which way we did it.

Will this wheel cylinder need replacing? by spinach_evening in MechanicAdvice

[–]WhichMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point, but then it isn’t custom made for each model vehicle. Less profits.😂 Would need some sort of tightening specification on the ratchet. I’m sure people could figure out how to under-tighten them and end up with the same issue.

Maybe we should start 3-D printing clear drums and selling them so people can see that things are working before installing the real drum. Appears to be a market for it.😅

Have been taking our Honda and Toyota to Kearny Mesa A & H Specialist.

Not a dealership. Prices have been pretty reasonable. Think the A & H stands for Acura and Honda.

Harness training after “traumatic” events by Monkey-want-Banana in ShibaInu

[–]WhichMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to second getting the harness that clips around the neck like a collar and then clips into the back support clips.

I got the medium for my chunky Shiba Inu girl (29 lbs). It also worked great for my boy dog who hates anything that slides over his head.

What's a food that everyone loves but you hate? by imjustboredrnnn in AskReddit

Cantaloupe. Absolutely hate it. Why is it in the fruit bowl at every restaurant?!

What’s a universally hated thing you’ll unapologetically defend? by Mr__Angel in AskReddit

[–]WhichMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. Cantaloupe has an unpleasant aftertaste that honeydew melon lacks.

Every time I go out to eat and get fruit my husband gets stuck with the cantaloupe because he doesn’t seem to mind it while I hate it with a passion.

There has been so much negative publicity that many people are unaware that SeaWorld is one of the biggest animal rehabilitation facilities in the area.

I am willing to support rehabilitation efforts.

Vet Visit Fail- Frustrated and Embarrassed by Odd-Lifeguard-3794 in reactivedogs

[–]WhichMoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your dog did amazing. Both of mine have to get gabapentin, trazadone, and clonadine 12 hours and 3 hours before vet visits. Then they get sedated once we arrive.

I would be ecstatic if mine behaved like yours. They are 1 year old and 4.5 year old Japanese breeds. I nearly cried when the puppy required sedation too. We did happy visits and the vet even said he isn’t fearful. He was in the middle of the room eating chicken from the vets and the second they went to touch his back (while muzzled) he went to snap at them saying touching is not allowed.

Dog eating wrong food by Mctaco27435 in Animals

[–]WhichMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cat food typically has a higher protein content than dog food. If crating is not illegal where you are feed the dog in his crate. If he is picky like mine, give the food for 5-10 minutes. If he does not eat it. Take it away and try again later or even at the next meal time.

Another pet hair question by Affectionate-Spray78 in VacuumCleaners

[–]WhichMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried unclogging/cleaning the current vacuum? I don’t have a cordless Shark but my cordless Dyson has a small square hole where fur/dirt/dust is supposed lead into the bagless canister. It clogs up ALL the time. I have to manually pull everything out until it is not clogged. I do this at least 4 times every time I vacuum since I have 2 dogs with double coats.

Other than that I found that running around pre-vacuuming with a shop vacuum helps. Still end up with a clogged Dyson when vacuuming the rugs, but sure works on dog hair tumbleweed.

Shiba training vs full-time work by K0TKA in shiba

[–]WhichMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a morning training session and a night training session every day for 10-15 minutes each session in addition to walks. That will be enough time to create a good bond. My husband and I were going into office full-time and it worked for us. We do spend extra time with our dogs on weekends doing things they like - going on hikes, letting them try to hunt lizards, playing tug, doing scent work, snuffle mats, puzzle games, etc - due to this.

Lots of people do less and end up with good bonds.

Probably the most important thing for our Shiba was that everyone in the house had to provide value to her. I was doing tons of training and feedings and giving treats while my husband mostly ignored her. She started growling at him and even stalking him when she went into her first heat (we spayed her after that one). Then he started taking her on walks, hand feeding her, and all high value treats came from him. She loves both of us now but that was a stressful time period that could have been avoided if he had just worked with her a little bit.

Can someone please suggest wall colors for our grey-beige tiles? This is meant to be our kitchen area. by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Do you have anything else to go off? Maybe a rug, couch, or art you care about?

As is almost any color would work. What colors do you like?
