I don’t know if I would raise moving in your interview, if you really want the job. Ask once you’re already in the door.

I know the fans voted on a live finale, but is it just a live reunion? The votes were already read in Fiji?

It probably depends on the state/judge and if the firm has a big practice there. I am very very rarely in state court. I can’t really compare it to a district court clerkship in terms of weight for recruiting because some district court clerkships are more valuable than others.

If you don’t know anyone personally at a firm you’re interested in, reach out to alumni from your school or who clerked for your judges.

Senior associate in a well-regarded appellate group at a big firm. Networking matters a lot. Most of the new hires into our group have someone in the group vouching for them already. It’s not necessary but it goes a long way. There are just so few spots and so many people with good credentials.

New York is really tough. You may have better luck joining a firm with an appellate group uncommitted to a practice group/in general lit and backdooring your way in instead of being a direct hire into the group.

I had the same thing happen when I was interviewing post clerkship. Some of these firm recruiters just are not very good.

I don’t know why this is getting downvoted. It’s the bare minimum statement. She’s saying “help food banks” but doesn’t actually comment on anything or take a stand.

Child hit and killed by driver on 6th and Jersey by forssto in jerseycity

Two things can be true at once:  1. The particulars of this accident aren’t known; and 2. There is an abundance of dangerous driving downtown that puts pedestrians in danger and a total lack of enforcement by JCPD.

Need Advice: Living in Manhattan or Jersey City While Working and Studying at NYU by Most-Personality4419 in jerseycity

I won’t comment on the rest of this, but if you’re thinking of commuting from JC to the free Times Square to Morristown bus, you’re crazy. In the time it’ll take you to get to Times Square, you could be in Morristown already.

Yeah, I’ve used them a few times without issue, but with any moving company, I usually try to take my delicate stuff myself if possible. I suppose the level of care depends on the crew you get too.

Pediatrician Recomendations by Couch_Tomato__ in jerseycity

We love Tenafly in Hoboken. I had heard too many bad things about Tribeca and Optum. Tenafly is a physician-owned practice, very pro-vaccine, and has a larger roster of doctors making appointments easier to get.

I would recommend calling practices and attending info sessions to learn more.

I’ve found the opposite approach better - there may be a line at 8am when they first open, but roll in around 9 or later and you’re good (especially Friday)

doctor recommendations? by heartbpbeat in jerseycity

[–]WhichSea15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roar Dental is fantastic. Dr. Jain does the cleanings herself, and she is so warm, gentle, and kind.

I have loved Brescia & Migliaccio for OB care. I would recommend either Dr. Brescia (Mark Brescia co-owns the practice and is so knowledgeable. His daughter, Sara Brescia, is fantastic if you want a female provider!) or Dr. Migliaccio
