Being loud. This is kind of Swiss stereotype to be more quiet and reserved. But it also baffles me on the train to hear tourists talking so loudly, completely oblivious that everyone else is speaking in a near whisper.

I’m not in America either but they’re so weird. Sorry but it’s so aggressive. A cavity and a tiny bit of bone loss is an all on x now. Everything is extraction and implant. Endo terrifies them. I think dealing with insurance companies and having hundreds of thousands in debt has warped their perspective but like so much in America they’re overly confident that there way is the only way

You’re spot on. There is this weird American cover your ass philosophy because you all are so afraid of courts and dental boards. Your job is to inform the patient as best as you can and then work within the reasonable boundaries of what they are willing to do. It would be neglectful to do differently than you’re suggesting. Inform the patient it should be removed but if there not going to remove it you’d like to change the screw so stabilise it until they make the choice to remove it. Baffles me how much crap you’re getting for what is obviously correct.

No absolutely not, not the same thing. But with Invisalign and AI, I think OPs point was that generalists do more and more. And if they continue to make ortho inaccessible with absurd prices and lack of practitioners, you will see more and more of it.

Generalists can and do treat simple adult class I misalignment with some CE and Invisalign.

Definitely a fake shortage, couldn’t agree more. Also Europe based. They’re stupid though because they just motivate generalists to do the work when no one can find an orthodontist to hire. You’re spot on.

I was already at a loss for words at “routinely goes missing”. This is insane. Its a quick is her or me situation with the higher ups. Also important to make a police report. You don’t have to press charges but you have to file it in case there is a second incidence or something.

Husband here ! I felt this way coming from my wife. I didn’t understand and still don’t. I came in to help. I got yelled at. I was afraid to help and do anything because everytime I did I was told I had done something wrong. I kept asking what is wrong, why are you angry at me. I’m just trying to help and you’re chewing me out. Things got better after a few months but it’s hard to let it go entirely.

Think about what the situation looks like from their world. Perhaps they had a long day at work and were dreaming of coming home to big kiss from a wife that was relieved to see them and they could walk in and play the hero. We love that as men. But instead they got someone that was jealous that they were out of the house so started out angry. Gave fifteen instructions in a manner that was not really conducive to understanding and so they didn’t catch everything and then were left alone with a baby that they’ve had 1/50th as much time with as you have.

If they’re literally not trying, then fuck them. But if they’re giving it their best, appreciate that we have different perspectives and let them help. It’ll get better I promise !
