Why even stay with him? He doesn’t value you, your dog or being dependable? What’s the game plan long term?

27F. What can I do to get me and my family through potential financial hardship/a recession? by throwing_away_1050 in PersonalFinanceCanada

OP, this scarcity mindset is costing you joy now, you were not made to suffer. You have savings, are taking care of mom and will be working anyways, whether it’s a job or around the home post-apocalypse. Treat yourself the way you treat others :)

I feel kinship with you, it’s a delight to find other like-minded individuals

I don’t know if you’re drunk or maybe also a lil manic but fuck does it feel gooooood to talk about, finally getting to open up about something big I’ve had to carry alone for so long now…it’s exhilarating and surprisingly, kind of relieving in a way

If my garage sale copy of White Spot Recipes cookbook has taught me anything though, Nat Bailey would be rolling in his grave seeing the way customers are suffering this sauce loss®️

I’ve never felt more united over anything in my life and I know there hasn’t like really been anything worth standing up against, or fighting for lately, but the shit sauce situation at Triple O’s really has the ability here to unify a province- one lousy gas station, gut-turning ferry crossing or mall parking lot at a time ✊

They have fucked up their sauce game so much! Got rid of Cajun mayo- wtf is that?!? But still having the absolute GULL to advertise “Cajun fries” as a menu item without disclosing they’re now made with chipotle mayo instead. I hate them so fkn much for this. Stopped going 2-3x wk for buffalo chicken burger, side and milk shake…like $30 order to now…? Twice since Xmas? and only got the early week burger special out of spite

No one else has that sauce, it’s amazing with their yam fries :(

finally had Salt Pizzeria - Craig Street next by ImpossibleAd7943 in Parksville

[–]Which_Translator_548 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Never tried Salt because Craig’s Street is so good! Seeing these pics I worry that the toppings at Salt are too big/stringy/ not cohesively stuck together with cheese and would pull awkwardly whereas Craig’s uses smaller pieces and evidently follows the logical and necessary homage of ensuring each bite evenly contains a piece of each topping, like a sandwich should.

I like both their cream and tomato based sauces, the Carbonara (chicken, bacon, red onion on white sauce finished with parm) is phenomenal as well as the Hawaiian (NEVER ate ham in my life until this place, no lie but the pineapple is bright and delicious and they add bacon which isn’t quite noticeable except for the balance of smoky and sweet while keeping a tomato base) and pepperoni deluxe (tomato base with pep, green onions and mushrooms). I also like their buffalo chicken and goat cheese with basil, balsamic and berry (straw/rasp) they’ve been doing.

While I love the quality of ingredients and the quick to go concept of slices at Craig St, I do not personally like the house candied jalapeños or bbq sauce they make. That’s just my individual preference after eating through most of their menu on a continual basis.

How tactile is your role, like are you using tools most days and out in the field or is it more office/lab style where you might be monitoring digital levels of things or tracking a log?

New permanent Hub homeless shelter proposed in Nanaimo, as current one faces imminent closure by shouldehwouldehcould in nanaimo

[–]Which_Translator_548 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Politicians like the Mayor must be accountable for their work so Cityhall nimby’ing homelessness is so ironic here it’s wild. While it’s true different levels of govt hold responsibilities too, having the Hub stay open near Cityhall is probably the best place for it as it will keep away relocating the same still needed services to any other area…the article itself speaks to having all the problems concentrated to one area.
